Spend New Year's Eve laughing at the razor-sharp wit of famed stand-up Paula Poundstone as she slices and dices her way through an evening of keen cultural commentary. Famed for a quick mind that always manages to come up with the perfect quip, Poundstone is a master of riffing off the crowd. It's also why she's the perfect panelist for NPR's Wait Wait ... Don't Tell Me!, where she's featured alongside some of the nation's leading pundits. She's the first woman to be invited to perform at the White House Correspondents' dinner and the first woman to win a CableACE award for Best Stand-Up Comedy performance. Still knocking them dead as a headliner, Poundstone released her latest comedy disc, I Heart Jokes: Paula Tells Them in Boston, in April 2013, and has recently toured as part of The Prairie Home Companion live show. About the Ticket Supplier: San Diego Gay Men's Chorus
The San Diego Gay Men's Chorus, one of the ten largest GALA choruses in the United States, features more than 130 talented and dedicated singers devoted to the Chorus mission statement, "To create a positive musical experience through exciting performances which engage our audiences, build community support and provide a dynamic force for social change."
After performing together in December 2009 for the first time in 17 years, the San Diego Men's Chorus (SDMC) and the Gay Men's Chorus of San Diego (GMCSD), with their uniquely distinctive and proud histories, officially merged to create the new San Diego Gay Men's Chorus (SDGMC). The newly merged Chorus looks forward to continuing the tradition of extraordinary musicianship and dedication to community outreach of their predecessors. In the process, SDGMC hopes to inspire thousands of people, win new fans, and write its own unique chapter in the histories of San Diego, of LGBT equality, and of choral music.
