Suburban couple Ben and Mary are hosting a cookout to welcome their new neighbors, free spirits Sharon and Kenny. But the casual barbeque soon turns into a delirious and dangerous bacchanal, shattering the fragile hold Ben and Mary have on their way of life -- with unexpectedly comic consequences. Detroit is a bitingly humorous look at what happens when we dare to open ourselves to something new and challenges our assumptions about status, comfort, ambition and community. Written by Lisa D'Amour (Ten Thousand Things, Nita and Zita), Detroit was a Pulitzer Prize finalist and one of The New York Times' top plays of 2012. The actresses were breathtaking in their interpretations of the Mirabal sisters. They transport you to relive their lives in the same beautiful and mesmerizing way that the Diary of Anne Frank does. The story is brought to life masterfully. You smile and laugh with the sisters, you hope and are frustrated with their trials, you're moved to feel their pain and she'd tears with them. Every sister touches your heart and leaves you with the feeling that you really got to know them. Marvelous!
