After the Fall: Rarely Produced Classic by Arthur Miller from HumanArts Theater Company

Full Price:
$25.00
Our Price:
$12.50

Based on the playwright's life and considered one of Arthur Miller's most personal plays, After The Fall follows a man on his quest to make peace with his own history and with the tumultuous world around him. This experimental portrait of a man struggling with the choices he has made in his public and private life examines the personal, political and universal forces that collide when we "fall" from innocence. Following the death of his second wife, Quentin tries to move forward, but he must also relive childhood losses, failed marriages and the effects of the 1950s' Blacklist. This rarely produced classic is presented by the HumanArts Theater Company. Learn More

Be prepared to walk a bit. But it is a beautiful campus and well worth it.
  • on What to Wear
It's on the campus and you're attending with college students, casual dress is perfectly fine.
  • on What to Wear
Dressy casual. It is the theatre, but no need to be fancy

My first experience with "Into the Woods" was a disastrous high school production so I was looking to give the show another shot. I was so glad that I did. It is a long show but the actors had such great energy and the pacing never left me wishing that the show would end. It was nice to see actors that could both act AND sing. I often feel that with musicals, it is either one or the other. The costumes were beautiful and complimented the set well. And I loved the use of the lighting to showcase different parts of the set. Overall, the cast and crew should be very proud of their production!

Play was entertaining and staged to move. No sleepy heads at this show. Actors are extremely talented and music was well done. No regrets here. Highly recommend. Missed the show? You really did miss out on this one. Support the MFA program! It would be a terrible loss if it has to close due to a lack of funding.

More Information About Into the Woods

Description

When a Baker and his Wife learn they've been cursed with childlessness by the Witch next door, they embark on a quest for the special objects required to break the spell, swindling, lying to and stealing from Cinderella, Little Red, Rapunzel and Jack (from the beanstalk). Everyone's wish is granted at the end of Act One, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later, with disastrous results. What begins a lively irreverent fantasy in the style of "The Princess Bride" becomes a moving lesson about community responsibility and the stories we tell our children.
