Get ready for a night of song, dance and fun when FilmOut San Diego presents a double feature of Rocky Horror Picture Show/Shock Treatment, two of the biggest cult films ever to grace the silver screen. Rocky Horror remains in limited release nearly four decades after its initial run, with audiences across the globe devouring nearly every word. Six years later, Shock Treatment followed the adventures of the Majors family, and while it was not as popular as the original, it still has a high level of campiness that ensures its legacy on the midnight film circuit. I particularly enjoyed the playful songs. I did think the "ads" in between the songs were a little overdone but I understand and support the causes. Perhaps if they had done more songs between the "ads" but they were supporting alot of great causes. I didn't realize it was more of a fund raiser than a choral event.
This exciting performance will honor organizations in San Diego that work to provide services and enrich the lives of members of our community. The Chorus will perform some of the greatest music ever written about what makes a house a home, including “C’mon a My House,” “Home” from The Wiz, Leonard Bernstein’s “Make Our Garden Grow, “Up the Ladder to the Roof,” and numerous other audience favorites.
