It was very cool, the only thing is we were far away in the hornblower. Still it was a really cool event, nothing like it.Written on Sep 24 2007

More Information About Red Bull Air Races Qualifying Spectator Cruise
Description

The Red Bull Air races is an exciting competition in which the world’s most talented pilots are up against each other in a race based on speed, precision and skill. The competition features a dynamic new discipline of flying, called ‘air racing’, where the objective is to navigate a challenging race course in the sky, in the fastest possible time. Flying individually against the clock, the pilots have to execute tight turns through a slalom course consisting of specially designed pylons, known as ‘Air Gates’. They compete in knockout rounds with the two fastest pilots going head to head in the final. Wednesday and Thursday are their practice days, Friday is the qualifying day, and Saturday is the race (finals) day.

Step aboard to see the first race of its kind in San Diego. Avoid the crowds on the shoreline and see the Air Race from the sun deck of Hornblower, 30 feet off the water.
