When Emmi decides to write her dissertation on a forgotten horror and science fiction author, she ends up uncovering a frightening legend. The story of the "skinless" may or may not be based on reality, but the information Emmi uncovers leads her into a world she never dreamed of. This hauntingly beautiful new play about family secrets was written by award-winning playwright Johnna Adams (Gidion's Knot, Sans Merci). Part of MOXIE Theatre's Moment of Truth season, Skinless is a wicked tale you won't soon forget. Learn More

The author writes magical-realism works. Unusual things happen like talking cats, the moon represented by a man, and dream sequences interspersed with reality. The language is beautiful and poetic; the casting and acting are excellent. The central characters are an army sergeant and his wife trying to communicate their evolving needs to each other. Pay close attention, and you will be well rewarded by vibrant characters trying to communicate.
