The timeless battle between Lucifer's forces of evil and Michael the Archangel's champions of goodness is brought to thrilling life in the holiday musical La Pastorela del Cielo, San Diego's longest-running professional theater production. Now celebrating its 23rd season, this beloved Mexican-inspired holiday show is a contemporary twist on the traditional story of the shepherds' journey to Bethlehem to witness the first Christmas. An epic morality play full of ethical choices and introspection, it's presented with levity, music, beautiful costumes and dialogue written entirely in verse, much like a yuletide Dr. Seuss story. This bilingual show is performed primarily in English, with additional Christmas carols sung in Spanish. Learn More

My Mom and I attended this musical and I have to say it was one of the best shows I have ever seen! Leigh Scarritt blew my mind! All the women in the show were amazing singers/actresses. We left the theater buzzing with energy and woke up early early early the next morning because we were still full of it. This was also a great brief history lesson on what women went through to get to where we are now. Thank you ladies--I needed it. - Marion
