Great!! Fantastic!! We were a group of seven women age 24 to 89. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this show!

I thoroughly enjoyed RESPECT. The singers were very talented, and I loved the music.

A history of women in America told through songs from every era and genre from the turn of the century through today! A must see for women of all ages. Men will enjoy it too! Great music sung by a talented cast!

Excellent show and well-performed

It is an uplifting immersion in one woman's journey that turns out to be any woman's journey! The four female singer/actors are stars and the band is impecable! I loved it so much, I've seen it twice! I took my mother for her birthday and she said it was the best show she had ever seen and will never forget it!

Fast paced, iconic songs, poignant moments. It is a show for everyone, not just women. My husband enjoyed it. "You've come a long way, baby"!

We enjoyed ourselves. Some was pretty darn funny and I could really relate to it but some of it was a bit slow. My husband survived though this is clearly aimed to women. It would have been great to go with my sister.

This show was wonderfully entertaining and uplifting for all women. I love the history interwoven throughout, as well as the talented songstresses that delivered the music. If you can see this, SEE IT!!!

Great entertainment and Goldstar made it affordable. Strong performers, cute choreography, and a good story line with the bonus of songs we knew and loved. Sing along at the end was fun. I recommend it...girls mostly there!

Very enjoyable show, and wonderful singing. Great to hear songs that spanned history and personal memories from songs my mom loved, to my childhood and teen years, and a few modern as well. Inspiring as well, for me as a woman!
The band was good too BUT they were just too loud! Can something be done to improve the balance, music sometimes drowned out the words of the songs, wasn't comfortable to listen to for two hours. Who can one complain to for the next run, which is July 11 throughout the summer?

My friend and I laughed, cried, and thoroughly enjoyed this delightful musical.

Charming, moving and energetic.

This was a fun evening, and the almost totally female audience seemed to really have a good time. There were no surprises, just familiar songs sung well and with enthusiasm. It seemed a little long to me, and slowed down considerably after the first act. Easy validated parking at Horton Plaza and Sammy's gives a discount if you show your theater tix.

Last night was my second time to enjoy Respect...it was even better than the first! Lisa Payton has blossomed beautifully!! All the performers are SO talented and seem to become more polished with time together. Great, fun evening!!

Great Concept. The sound could have been better, the band was too loud for the singers who then seemed to over compensate. The arrangements weren't true which made it a bit harder to remember some of the songs. But, we had a blast. Love the idea and it was largely well executed.

I very much enjoyed the show. It was entertaining and empowering. I think every Women should watch it.

Uplifting, funny, easy to relate to!

Absolutely perfect seats -- thank you, Goldstar. The problem I had was that I wear hearing aids, and this production was extremely loud most of the time. Occasionally the actors spoke so softly I couldn't hear them at all, other times they spoke too rapidly for me ... but that's just my personal situation. I recognized the music & the acting is amazing. Very good performance.

Four women with amazing vocal prowess performing music from a whole century of popular songs. Each act is packed with memorable tunes and loaded with humor and pathos. Their band is exceptional, too. A must see...and I'd be glad to see it again! The audience was nearly all female but any man would have a blast.

Great seats, great entertainment! Definiitely a women's play.

"Respect" is a terrific show with dynamic performers, excellent music, and a semi-autobiographical storyline tying it all together. Not exactly a play, not exactly a concert, the show traces the history of women's voices in popular music, using historical events as well as events in the life of the author upon whose book the show is based. It's inspirational, educational, moving, uplifting, empowering, and, most importantly, fun. My daughters, 13 and 10, and I had a blast, and the original cast soundtrack CD is now in rotation in our home.

Enjoyed hearing songs from past eras and seeing the various costumes. Special effects, such as boots descending from ceiling, were a nice surprise addition.

This musical is uplifting and fun, especially if you were a teen in the 60's or 70's. You will leave with a smile.

Went to see with my daughter. She knew every song also. Great cast, wonderful seats. It was uplifting and a completely enjoyable event!

Our seats were excellent - the last row in the front part of the theatre. The actors were terrific - great voices, funny acting, just great! It brought back alot of memories - the music score was filled with wonderful songs!

Gals were so energetic and played their parts well. Especially enjoyed the redhead gal- strong voice, cute, sexy!

What was originally explained to be a narrative of a woman's family history, it deviated from that and turned out to be more of a string of music with loose ties to the original story that only in the end attempted to re-connect to the story. Narrator had a strange look in what appeared to be fake hair, overly done make up and significant plastic surgery that detracted from the presentation.

I took my friend to see it as a birthday celebration. WE loved it. The music and songs were so nostalgic and fun. It is a great production and I would highly recommend it to all my friends.

It was a lot of fun. The only drawback was that the understudy in the performance was often off key. The others all had very good voices.

Wonderful entertainment! This was the second time I attended the performance, which is probably more actuate than calling it a "Play". My sisters and nieces all enjoyed it very much. My 19 year old granddaughter was a little young to fully appreciate and relate since much of the music was unfamiliar, however, said she did enjoyed it. I think it important she learned of what her predecessers experienced to create the opportunities she now enjoys and do it in such a fun entertaining way.

The Music & the memories that went with the songs....So great..the entire show made for a very FUN sisters afternoon.

A great girlfriends' event. Went with girls we have known for 30+ years. Loved the story. Loved the music. Loved the performers. Loved the band.

A well performed collage of music through the 20th century. Has the feel of a Mama Mia 'happy' musical.

This was my 2nd time and I like it even better! I loved it so much last week that I invited some girlfriends to go for a friend's BDay. They all loved it!

This is a performance where the whole is less than the sum of the parts. All of the performers are talented and well trained and each sang well.
However, all of the costumes (were they costumes?) lacked taste and statement. The women looked dowdy and looked more prepared to wash a floor than entertain a paying audience. This would be understandable if the women were playing roles, but as a chorus they looked sloppy.
The band was also well skilled, but looked bored for the most part...
The photo collage of heroines was appropriate, but was occasionally mixed in with present day no names that failed to extend the story.
Overall, it was a fun event that lacked the staging polish to match the vocal skills of the performers.

The show just got better as it went on. it made me laugh and cry.

My husband & I both loved it. We knew all the songs & it was REALLY hard not to sing along & disturb the others sitting around us. I would recommend this to women & men of all ages although those of us over 60 probably got a bigger kick out of it. The performers & band were fantastic.

It was fabulous. Went with a group of girl friends, and we all LOVED it. Very uplifting .... a performance that left you smiling.... and reminiscing about where you were when these songs were popular.

Amazing...great fun. My second time seeing this and I am going back one more time before it ends. You can't help but laugh, cry and dance. A must see with your girlfriends. DO NOT miss this one!

This play was fabulous and very inspirational. Four women and the band were outstanding.

Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous and what memories it brings back! Also a very interesting look at how music reflects the societal trends... as women moved from dependence to independence!

Fun with a serious side. Those women can SING! The mics were set a little high and at times I and my guests had to cover our ears.
The venue is NOT handicap friendly. The elevator services the entire parking garage and takes a good five minutes or more to arrive. When it does arrive, it is full of strollers and surprised shoppers who didn't know they were going down into the theater lobby. We got to the theater as the doors opened and were almost late to our seats because we needed the elevator for my elderly mother.

A powerful and highly entertaining timeline of women over the past century and what makes us crazy ;) The cast is superbly talented in voice as well as comedic and dramatic delivery!! By the end we were all up singing and dancing R-E-S-P-E-C-T find out what it means to me!

Thoroughly enjoyed this show! The actresses and musicians were amazing and the show was so entertaining! My friend, husband and I laughed heartily! I'm going to tell everyone about it!

What a fantastic uplifting musical celebration! I knew every song, and the cast gave their all in this performance. I smiled for the entire performance, and was quietly dancing in my seat!

This was a fantastic review of how women have come to be in this day and age. The stars of the show did a fabulous job of singing some wonderful songs of the 60's, 70's and 80's. I'm going to see it again,I loved it!

This was my 1st time to the Lyceum Theatre. From what I could see there really isn't a bad seat in the house. Respect was a wonderful tribute to the last 100 years of music and how it relates to women's progress through the last century. The cast was phenomenal and the music kept you alive. I highly recommend this show to all.

Wonderfully talented cast. They made me want to get up and dance my way through the entire event.

What fun!!! The 4 women in this show were over the top. They were on stage the entire time with hardly a break, and the music and dancing were terrific! They had us all up and dancing by the end. Go see this!

RESPECT WAS WONDERFUL. Even better than I expected, even. Four women in the cast, singing almost constantly. Such fun, how they put a different spin on familiar songs. The only songs I didn't know were Britney Spears numbers. Several live musicians too. Full parking validation to boot. ("These boots were make for walkin' ....)

It was so much fun. I would go see it again. The performers put their heart and soul into the music. Very talented women! Our husbands liked it too.

Respect was a fun and lively production. Our seats were way off to the side and we could not see the overhead projetions which were part of the performance. next show I would prefer to sit in the middle section. The play is entertaining and perfect for an evening out!

It is fast,funny, nostalgic, uplifting, thoroughly enjoyable. I could see it a dozen times more. The performers were incredibly talented. I brought my daughter and she has told all her friends about "Respect" and about Goldstar.

To say that this show is amazing is an understatement. Wow! I took my mom for Mother's Day and we were blown away by this musical journey through womanhood. The performers were simply fantastic. We laughed so hard, we sang along to some songs, and we even cried at parts! During intermission, I discovered that some people were at their second or third viewing. And believe me, we will be back. My mom and I have already made a list of family and friends we'll bring when we return.

As a Boomer, I could relate to the 60's songs so well. Seeing the change in women's status through a musical journey is a great way to learn. The performers were talented and versatile. They were able to adapt to the time period with just a little costume accessory and sing pieces that epitomized that era. The musicians were on stage the entire time and were also fabulous.

I attended "Respect" with two girlfriends. We thoroughly enjoyed this musical. We thought it started out a bit slow -- but quickly the dynamics between the four performers/singers and the band kicked in for two hours of pure fun and entertainment. These ladies can really SING and the band is JUMPIN'.

I highly recommend this musical for all ages.

Our only complaint is that some of pictures shown during the performance were difficult to see (we sat off-center) perhaps due to the lighting and our seat location.

This event was fabulous! Full of nostalgic magic via our favorite songs of the era! The performers were not only talented singers but energetic and engaging. The six of us had a marvelous afternoon!

Very good music and upbeat theme. All of the performers were excellent. Well worth the ride to San Diego and the traffic getting back to North San Diego County.
