You've always wanted to sing gorgeous classical music with a huge chorus and professional orchestra. Here's your chance! City Ballet invites all singers, and would-be singers, to sing along with the chorus to the majesty of Handel's Messiah. This is a full audience participation production backed by live musicians, a large on-stage choir and professional soloists. Written in 1751, Messiah is the most performed choral work in the English language, and for many, it is a winter holiday tradition. Bring your own score or rent one in the lobby and join the chorus. What a wonderful evening: the moon, the stars, and the music! Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis, Jr. are real pros, great entertainers, and still have the vocal chops to handle a wide repetoire of love songs, jazz, blues, and rock and roll! We were very pleased with our grandstand seats and enjoyed the concert thoroughly.
Soul music rocks at the Summer Pops with Grammy-winning power couple Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis Jr. The most distinctive voices of the popular Fifth Dimension celebrate their classic ‘60s and ‘70s hits including Aquarius/Let The Sunshine In, Up Up & Away, You Don’t Have To Be A Star (To Be In My Show), Wedding Bell Blues and more! Their enduring sound has made McCoo and Davis, Jr. favorites with orchestras all across the country.
