Members Who Went Said:Arrica was entertaining, and WAS or whatever his name had a terrific voice to go with his Rob Thomas-like lyrics. The last musical entry of the evening —"Wrong Trousers" was absolutely bizarre. They take teenage angst to a whole new level. Their lyrics while not intending to be funny were gut-busting laugh-out-loud hysterical.
Anonymous Member Lestat's is a great little venue. All three groups were excellent. Arrica is a sweetheart with a lovely voice. |

More Details About This Event: La La Lost. Happily ever sad. So lives Los Angeles-based quartet Arrica Rose and The …’s (The Dot Dot Dots). The band's debut full-length CD, People Like Us, co-produced by Larry Crane (Elliott Smith, The Decemberists, Sleater-Kinney), was described as “12-song effort with poetry disguised as lyrics” (Daily Sun) and as a record that ought to “launch [the band] into stardom, something for which [they] seem destined” (Performer). Their follow-up EP, Last Night on Earth, also quickly created its own buzz, including charting on college/indie radio across the country and creating much anticipation for the band’s second full-length release.
On April 14, 2008, La La Lost, produced by Dan Garcia (David Crosby, Rod Stewart, Christina Aguilera), was released exclusively on iTunes. La La Lost has already begun charting on college/indie radio and has been chosen as a "Paste recommends" album for the magazine's next issue. Citing influences ranging as far and wide as Tom Waits, Billie Holiday, David Bowie and Bob Dylan, the CD is a soulful collection of songs and experiences that weave together moments almost lost but not forgotten. With one foot planted in singer/songwriter land, another in indie folk-rock and maybe an intermittent hand in pop, Arrica Rose & The...’s music makes sense for those of us who don’t.
