Surf's up -- and murder's afoot -- as Psycho Beach Party hangs 10 at Ocean Beach Playhouse. Playwright Charles Busch (Die, Mommie, Die!, The Tale of the Allergist's Wife) mashes up '50s psychodramas, '60s surfer films and '80s slasher horror into a truly madcap comedy. Chicklet Forrest desperately wants to be a part of the cool kid crowd on Malibu Beach, circa 1962. This ambition is slightly complicated by the fact that her personality is not so much "split" as shattered among several personalities, including a black check-out girl, an elderly talk show host, a male model and an accounting firm. When one of her personalities goes rogue, Chicklet is in for some rough waters in this hilarious romp from Ocean Beach Ensemble Experiment. Learn More

The Oceanbeach Playhouse is a very quaint theater that is decorated with art from local artists that is for sale. Very interesting things to look at. We had never seen this play before and enjoyed it. Many in the audience were "groupies" and had seen the story many times! During intermission they held a raffle that was very fun. Very comfortable venue and a great evening!
