See the final screening of FilmOut San Diego's 13th Annual LGBT Film Festival and then join the closing-night festivities at Urbn Coal Fired Pizza. In The Green, Michael Gavin -- portrayed by Jason Butler Harner (The Changeling, HBO's John Adams) -- an English teacher at a private high school, has left behind his life in New York City for the charm of the Connecticut shore. He thinks he can live a simple domestic existence with his partner, Daniel (Cheyenne Jackson), by adhering to an unspoken survival code: Don't speak up, don't make trouble. But his world is turned upside down when he's accused of engaging in inappropriate behavior with a male student, and the boy's mother and her mercenary boyfriend try to profit from the school's culpability in the alleged affair. With everything in jeopardy, Michael must confront the suspicions of his co-workers, the latent homophobia of his friends and neighbors, and Daniel's doubts about his innocence after the investigation reveals a secret from his past. The film features Julia Ormond, Bill Sage, Karen Young and Illeana Douglas.

I enjoyed this screening. I think it did a great job of portraying how a gay mans life can be wrecked when others suspect he came on to a male minor even when there is no witness statement. I felt the acting to be very real by all.
On the other hand the After-Party at Urbn Coal Fired Pizza did not feel like a party at all. It was just a large room sparsely fliled with people gathered around various tables. The half price drinks werent bad but the "free" pizza was difficult to attain
With tickets to this screening being $20 rather than the $10 of other films, people were basically being charged $10 to be able to attend. With that in mind I expected a nice evening with the free pizza spread out buffet style so we could easily grab a slice between mixing and mingleing with others. Instead the pizzas were brought out one at a time with 5 to 10 min in between and set on various tables where people were already crowded around. By the time the pizza even got to the table most of the pizza was grabbed up by those the server passed along the way. People were actually mobbing the server like ravenous animals to get their slices before it even made it to a table. What little was remaining was mainly grabbed by those already at the table. Even if you were lucky enough to nab a few slices, you never knew what you might be getting as they brought out various kinds of pizzas at various times.
The buffet style would been a great promo opportunity for the business as people would be able to sample the various pizza. If they liked a particular one and the price is reasonable there's a good chance they would get their business in the future. Instead many people had no idea what kind of pizza they were eating.
I understand the "Opening" party at another location was very festive and people really enjoyed themselves. Im sure they were treated to food being spread out in advance as done at most affairs like this.
I dont know if Filmout or Urbn CF Pizza was to blame for the poor hosting job of this event but I dont expect to ever return to Urbn CF Pizza for their part in poor customer service

When the director said that he'd been a soap-opera director for 10 years, I understood the look, rhythme and camera shots (even frozen expressions on fade-outs).
Script is good with too many issues; acting was too broad with each character holding their prescribed role.
