With Vive La France, this unique violin octet celebrates French speaking culture around the globe. The Hutchins Consort performs plays on eight scaled violins from the tiny treble violin, tuned one octave above the standard violin, to the large bass violin, tuned one octave lower than a cello. This broad palette of instruments helps the ensemble produce an astonishing range. This program will feather the orld premiere of Bataillie's Trout Swimming Upstream, Boieldieu Harp Concerto, featuring Elena Mashkovtseva, Ravel's Tzigane Pavane for a Dead Princess and an array of Haitian and Tahitian songs that will transport you to the islands.

This was an amazing experience! The Hutchins Consort was unlike any other classical music event I've attended. The Harp soloist was also wonderful - usually the harp is something that is an "add to" in a full symphony so I've never experienced anything like this. The venue was also perfect - I felt like I was sitting with them on stage. The sound values were unbelievable.

The music was so uplifting. The musicians were so into creating emotion
and excitement. The harpist was an added plus to the program.

This group of musicians is terrific. I have seen them before and they never fail to please. There is a bit of humorous interaction with the audience which is very well received.

About the Ticket Supplier: Hutchins Consort

The Hutchins Consort plays on the eight scaled violins of the violin octet designed and built by famed luthier Dr. Carleen Hutchins. The instruments are the first successful attempt to create an acoustically balanced set of instruments that can sound truly like violins across the entire range of written music. With instruments ranging from the tiny treble violin, tuned one octave above the standard violin, to the gigantic large bass violin, tuned one octave lower than a 'cello, the Hutchins Consort produces an astonishing palette of sounds.
