Each winter, pods of California Gray Whales pass by San Diego on their annual migration south to the warm lagoons of Baja. During the spring, they return to their summer home of Alaska and the Bering Sea, passing through Southern California's waters again. H&M Landing offers the opportunity to see these majestic mammals, along with various other forms of marine life, live and up-close on this tour off the coast of San Diego. The trip includes an informative narrative about the whales and their migration. The boats are equipped with indoor and outdoor seating and a galley lounge complete with hot food and beverage service. Learn More

We saw lots of whales, dolphins, sea lions and birds which is why I rated this so high. Another plus was the bottomless beverage for $5 and the nachos for $4! Negatives were no seating for a lot of people and very little indoor seating making this 6 hour long trip a negative in the hot sun (bring a hat for sure). The june gloom helped but definately get there early for a seat. Whaler volunteers from the Natural History museum were available to give info on the whales which was a nice touch.
Six-hour cruise time is approximate.
