Recognized as one of her generation's greatest pianists and the Russian Gold Medal winner of the prestigious Van Cliburn International Piano competition in 2001, dynamic pianist and Russian composer Olga Kern regularly captivates fans and critics alike with her vivid stage presence, confident musicianship and extraordinary technique. Now Kern comes to Marines' Memorial Theatre for a solo recital of works by Mendelssohn, Schumann and Rachmaninoff. (Kern and Rachmaninoff go way back -- not only is her family actually related to the classical romanticist, but she was the winner of the first international piano competition named after him.) See the celebrated virtuoso perform Mendelssohn's Variations Serieuses, Schumann's Carnaval and Rachmaninoff's Preludes. Learn More

Another in a long line of Richmond/Ermet's fundraising talent shows put on by the company of a touring Broadway show, the cast of American Idiot did not fail! . So much energy and natural ability on-stage and several beautiful, original numbers too! I can't wait til tomorrow to finally get to see them put on their REAL show (which I'd seen in its pre-Bway run in Berkeley). I enjoyed watching the players rotate amongst the instruments in the band. Oh to be that talented! I would've liked an additional appearance by Paula West, one of my absolute favorite singers, peppered into the night.
The Richmond/Ermet AIDS Foundation has worked with more than 34 touring casts to date to produce “One Night Only Cabaret” events. To date, REAF has distributed well over $2.6 million to AIDS service agencies.
Please note: Songs from American Idiot will not be performed.
