Don't miss your chance to see the latest and greatest new work from the Bay Area's hottest up-and-coming playwrights at the 16th annual Best of PlayGround Festival. Each performance of the show, starring and directed by top local talent, features seven short plays in their entirety -- and this year, they've even included two 10-minute musicals as part of the mix. In all, 36 plays were developed as part of the Monday night staged-reading series at Berkeley Rep, and these seven were specially selected to be part of this festival. Stick around after the Sunday night performances for a discussion with the playwrights. VIP tickets include prime priority seating, a glass of wine and a meet-and-greet with the playwrights at intermission. Please see the event description for more information on the lineup. Learn More

Rather amateurish and some bad casting. I usually like these actors but not in this show.Written on Apr 04 2012

Faithful reproduction of the original book - but most of the actors need to work on their Salfordian accents (this reviewer is from Salford). We would have been happy to pay more for these tickets. We highly recommend this play,Written on Feb 06 2012

The actors all did an outstanding job with the late playwright Shelagh Delaney's play, "A Taste of Honey," that she wrote at eighteen.Written on Feb 17 2012
Brigette Lundy-Paine, a senior in high school, carried the lead with flying colors. She moves the talents of all her fellow seasoned actors around her. Brigette brings rhythm and sets the pace continuously throughout the play. Mark my words, one day Brigette Lundy-Paine might be synonymous with Meryl Streep.
The Thick House is an intimate theatre, located in Potrero Hill, San Francisco. The lighting, sounds and 60's costumes was right on. The set construction and prop decorations was really well thought out and executed by Julie Gillespie.
