Up Market Productions presents a workshop production of the new fast-paced, comic play A Union of Socialist San Francisco. A free-spirited daughter of liberal Haight household falls in love with a Marin County yoga instructor, whose parents are politically correct liberals. When the two families unexpectedly meet at the Victorian Haight home, the evening turns into a comic melee of mixed-up intentions, vegan uprisings and missing geckos.

Pretty fun show, some good laughs... great acting by woman who played "Marin snob mother"... so-so acting by man who played "Stan" (his voice and movements were stiff, though he is very cute)Written on Jul 19 2006

Description
“We speak to the intense personal beliefs and causes of people in the Bay Area, rather than broad political issues,” says playwright, R.C. Staab. “If you may want to bash George Bush, please write your Congresswoman or your Senator or go to the Magic Theatre. If you want to discover the passions of Bay Area neighbors from alternative medicine to vegan food, from collecting petition signatures to stopping windmills from killing eagles, then join us for a lively night at theater.”
The play features a multi-ethnic cast of 10 reflecting the diversity of the Bay Area.
