I admire solo performers, and I root for them. I wanted to love this, however, i only just liked it. I guess I didn;t like the political references, and I object to the choice to be "free" while living on the Embarcadero. A very nice closure, however, with all the characters finding connection.Written on Nov 08 2010

We went to the second night of this new show with two other friends. We sat in the ultra comfy seats in the front row. This is really a one woman show and she is amazing. It started off a bit slow but then other characters came in to play. Loved the ending twist. I would have liked a few more funny lines - maybe a joke about the folks living across the Golden Gate Bridge in Marin at that section or a few more zingers for good measure. I do recommend it.Written on Sep 27 2010

Absolutely mediocre, thought the theater staff were absolutely gracious. As for the show, tremendous ability was manifest in the star's mastery of so much material, but the material itself, while ambitious and in some places insightful, was marred, in this viewer's opinion, by two faults: first, the horrible deprivation suffered by the homeless ought not to be minimized by making them fodder for the laughter of the comfortable, nor for assuaging the sense of compassion and social conscience which the comfortable should cultivate by purveying the all-too convenient myth that the homeless enjoy their wretched circumstances -- as with the character "Sunshine," who started the play announcing how delighted she was to live on choice San Francisco real estate near the Bay Bridge, and how in her homeless state she had found the "freedom" she came to San Francisco to enjoy. Secondly, the characterization of the techie from India as a palms-pressed-together spouter of cliches of Eastern philosophy was banal.Written on Dec 06 2010
