1) No one was allowed in until 4:15 but they still cut off the beer at 6:00.

2) There was no one managing the crowd and people would not move away from the pouring areas.

3) For the most part if you wanted beer you had to hold your glass out over the people camped around the pouring areas and get beer when it was being poured, you could rarely see the label of the beer you were tasting and this was therefore a total failure as a beer tasting event.

4) There were no where near 80 beers. My tasting card only had 39 beers listed and no one could find six of them. I've been to one of the "around the world in 80 beers" events before and they did have 80 beers. It's baffling to me that they think they think they can get away with this kind of false advertisement or is it the old Bait and switch?

All that being said I did have a good time but that had more to do with the people I was there with than the event itself.

I don't thiink that I have ever attended an event with that was more unorganized. I really thought that this event would be a learning experience about beer. I thought that someone would be presenting different beers and telling the crowd a little about each of them.

The event started about 15 minutes late. There were three servers for about 200 people who had 2 hours to try tastes of 80 beers. The servers knew nothing about beer. No one addressed the mob (it WAS a mob) and people were left scrambling for a few drops of all of the beers. People were shoving and pushing to get to the bar in order to at least get enough beer to make the entrance cost more worth while. We learned nothing about the beer and we would never go back to that particular club (Gravity) again.

Please warm people before they attend an event like this that there is no one running the show.

I went to the Around the World in 80 beers at O'Neils Irish Pub in SOMA and loved it. This set up wasn't as good, b/c they only have two places to get beers. At O'Neils they had tables set up all around the bar, so you never had to wait in line. That worked out much better. I would recommend that any bar in the future sets up tables instead of only being able to go to a bar to help the flow.

Still had a nice time. Thank you!
