I love BATS, but have enjoyed other nights there much more. This was a bunch of very short vignettes - I like when they take a story out a little farther, which seems to challenge the performers more and provide a more textured story line.
However, any night at BATS is fun.
That said, it seems that BATS put out some special offer on Groupon, so the crowd was a bit different. There were some obnoxious, seemingly drunk (the beer in their hands was a clue) folks sitting in the back barking out sexual suggesions - and not even clever ones - over and over and over and over. I heard a couple of them mention Groupon.
Goldstar: Let BATS know that some controls/limits need to be applied to audience input - it really took away from the fun for me and I think many others. Or perhaps Groupon is aiming a little too low to fill seats(?).

We had a great time! The actors were very talented - creative and quick witted. The audience was enthusiastic the entire evening, which added to the fun. Another good thing about this event is the ease and inexpense of parking, especially for a...continued
The Theatresports show format treats audiences to an entertaining and engaging night of theater and comedy—presented as a competition! Shows feature two teams of improvisers performing a variety of scenes and musical numbers which are scored by judges. At the end of the night, one team wins, moving closer to the title of Tournament Champion. Everything is created on the spot making each show absolutely unique and surprising!
For Rock & Roll Theatresports, the BATS Company forms into six rock-themed teams. In addition to judges’ scores, the audience votes on which team gets to roll the giant fuzzy die for additional points.
