The critically acclaimed JACK Quartet brings their cutting-edge version of chamber music to San Francisco Contemporary Music Players' Sweet Thunder Festival, a celebration of contemporary electro-acoustic music. JACK usually showcases their explosive technique and "viscerally exciting performances" (The New York Times) on works by today's greatest composers of new music, and this concert is no exception, with a new work by Kevin Ernste entitled Palimpsest. The program also includes Natacha Diels' Nightmare, Turgut Ercetin's String Quartet No. 1 and, in a tribute to the late Jonathan Harvey, a performance of his String Quartet No. 4. Learn More

It was this event's first year, I enjoyed it even though there were only around 1800-2000 attendees. Compared to the famous beer festival it was a small event. Only half of the pavillion was used. The beer was amazing, there was a great variety to choose from and of excelent quality. The nice thing of being a smaller event was there was hardly any wait time, so i happilly tried beer after beer, and 4 hours was more than enough time to try them all! I would enjoy going back again next year.
With so many wine tastings and pairings, it’s about time San Francisco had another beer festival! The two-day event will feature dozens of international and domestic beers, more than a dozen food trucks (food sold separately) and will take place at Fort Mason.
