The "Godfather of EDM" Morton Subotnick makes music lovers an offer they can't refuse, performing his seminal work From Silver Apples of the Moon to a Sky of Cloudless Sulphur IV: Lucy live as part of the Sweet Thunder Festival of Electro-Acoustic Music. A true pioneer in the then avant-garde field, Subotnick was one of the first to work with Don Buchla's break-through synthesizer, dubbed the Electric Music Box. The resulting Nonesuch Records disc, 1967's Silver Apples of the Moon, was recently inducted into the prestigious U.S. National Recording Registry. Subotnick himself is still actively composing and racking up lifetime achievement awards, after winning a Guggenheim Fellowship, three Rockefeller Grants, ASCAP's John Cage Award and more. Learn More

It was this event's first year, I enjoyed it even though there were only around 1800-2000 attendees. Compared to the famous beer festival it was a small event. Only half of the pavillion was used. The beer was amazing, there was a great variety to choose from and of excelent quality. The nice thing of being a smaller event was there was hardly any wait time, so i happilly tried beer after beer, and 4 hours was more than enough time to try them all! I would enjoy going back again next year.
With so many wine tastings and pairings, it’s about time San Francisco had another beer festival! The two-day event will feature dozens of international and domestic beers, more than a dozen food trucks (food sold separately) and will take place at Fort Mason.
