Pacific Chamber Symphony welcomes guitarist Paul Galbraith as solo guest artist. Internationally renowned as a brilliant innovator of the classical guitar, Galbraith uses an eight-string Brahms guitar, which he helped to develop. This zesty season finale, led by Maestro Lawrence Kohl, adds a dash of Spanish flair with Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez and lyrical romanticism with Beethoven's Eroica.

Masterful performance. Galbraith was a wonder with the guitar. And as always the Pacific Chamber Symphony was superb, playing the Eroica heroically.

I was a great performance from Paul Galbraith. Always well worth the effort to hear him whenever you can. His technique is uniquely his own, and his playing nearly flawless. This splendid version of Rodrigo's Concerto de Aranjuez.
The Pacific Chamber Symphony did a fantastic job accompanying Paul Galbraith. Compliment his sound and cadence beautifully. The Eroica Symphony was a pleasure. Both my guest and myself were truly impressed quality of this symphony. I am surprised that I did not know of them before. I will certainly be looking for this Orchestra in the future.

More Information About Beethoven and Rodrigo Eroica to Aranjuez

Description

Internationally renowned as a brilliant innovator of the classical guitar, Paul Galbraith has been working since the 1980s to expand the technical limits of his instrument in addition to augmenting the quantity and quality of its repertoire. His efforts have already resulted in a series of critically acclaimed recordings of works by Bach, Haydn and Brahms, along with his own arrangements of folk tunes from various countries, all of which demonstrate the originality of his musical personality. By exchanging the traditional guitar for the eight-string Brahms guitar, which he helped to develop, Galbraith found the ideal instrument with which to interpret the challenging Classical transcriptions from his highly personal repertoire.
