Master clowns Bill Irwin (Scapin, Waiting for Godot), a two-time Tony winner, and David Shiner (Cirque du Soleil, Seussical) bring their stage hit Old Hats to A.C.T. Their hilarious new work features original music, imaginative movement and a captivating use of technology designed to bring a smile to your face. Shiner and Irwin also co-created the Broadway hit Fool Moon, which ran through most of the '90s and racked up two Tonys, a Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards. A continuation of Fool Moon, the joyful Old Hats won the 2013 Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Alternative Theatrical Experience and the 2013 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Revue. Irwin took home his Tonys for his dramatic role in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? along with Fool Moon, but he may be best known as Mr. Noodle from Elmo's World. Shiner not only originated the role of the Cat in the Hat from Broadway's Seussical, but he also wrote and directed Cirque du Soleil: KOOZA. This production features direction from Tina Landau, whose production of Saroyan's The Time of Your Life thrilled audiences in 2004. Learn More
You're wasting your money to sit in the balcony at this theater. The rack of lights attached to the front of the balcony blocks the view of those in the front row, so they lean forward at the edge of their seats to see action at the front of the stage. The balcony is VERY steeply raked, so when they lean forward, a ripple effect occurs where the people in the second row also lean forward to try to see around the heads of the people in the front row who are now blocking their view, and so on and so on. If those in the front row are inconsiderate jerks, they stay leaned forward through the entire show, and no one behind them can see. Absolute sightline FAIL. The lighting rig needs to be redesigned!!! The owners of this theater don't give a crap about screwing over balcony patrons. I politely asked the usher to ask the people in the front row to sit back, and he point-blank refused to do so.Old Hats info • Sep 29 2014 star this tip starred

Interesting memoir and has some very funny moments as well as poignant scenes. It is way too long--needs editing and cutting. Presently is 3hrs, second act needs the most cutting but lst needs editing as well. I had some trouble hearing--the...continued
OBIE Award winner José Rivera (A.C.T.‘s Brainpeople, Marisol), the Academy Award–nominated screenwriter of The Motorcycle Diaries, returns to his native Puerto Rico to explore the ineffable dreams of lovers. In one of his most personal works, passion and humor collide in an exuberant village in 1953, where Flora’s search for true love follows an unexpected course. A bold, moving second act, set almost 40 years later in America, probes the darker mysteries of marriage.
This brilliant new work reverberates with the gorgeous sounds of Latin love songs, or boleros, written by master composer Fabian Obispo. Acclaimed actors Rachel Ticotin (Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Total Recall, and Broadway’s Macbeth) and Robert Beltran (Star Trek: Voyager, Big Love) star alongside the fresh new talents of Drew Cortese, Lela Loren, Dion Mucciacito, and Michele Vazquez in their A.C.T. debut.
