Members Who Went Said:I saw the second preview performance of this show. I was not very excited about seeing it since I saw the movie and hated it but the play was AMAZING. The story doesn't work well on film but it works perfectly in the intimate setting at the SF Playhouse. Jon Tracy brilliantly directs this psychological thriller and he keeps you on your toes with every scene. An amazing ensemble cast with knock-out performances by Gabriel Marin and Susi Damilano. Everything from the set, lights and the sound design were top notch. The ending gave me chills - I highly recommend this!
Robert M. I really, really love every performance at SF Playhouse. The acting in this one is incredible, but the subject is just terribly disturbing. It was billed as a dark comedy thriller but "dark" is the most accurate part of the description. Still, a very interesting evening - very well directed, superbly acted, interesting set - just can't quite stop cringing long enough to give it more stars!
Satire Always on the hunt for something new :) This was a really great show and the actors were impressive. At first I didn't think it would be very good after looking at the tiny set but they really know their stuff. Also, the bartender was extremely nice and totally got my Simpson's reference. |

About SF Playhouse: The aim of the SF Playhouse is to provide a creative home and inspiring environment where actors, directors, writers, designers and theater lovers converge to create works that celebrate the human spirit. Founded by Bill English and Susi Damilano in 2003, SF Playhouse is Union Square's intimate, professional theatre. Using professional actors and world-class design, the SF Playhouse — which won the Bay Guardian's 2006 Best Off Broadway Theatre Award and about which the San Francisco Chronicle raved "San Francisco's newest theatre isn't just another tiny stage carved out of a storefront...it's an enticing introduction to a new company" — has become an intimate theatre alternative to the traditional Union Square theatre fare, garnering 20 Bay Area Theatre Critic nominations in its first year. |
