After the Fall: Rarely Produced Classic by Arthur Miller from HumanArts Theater Company
- Full Price:
- $25.00
- Our Price:
- $12.50
Based on the playwright's life and considered one of Arthur Miller's most personal plays, After The Fall follows a man on his quest to make peace with his own history and with the tumultuous world around him. This experimental portrait of a man struggling with the choices he has made in his public and private life examines the personal, political and universal forces that collide when we "fall" from innocence. Following the death of his second wife, Quentin tries to move forward, but he must also relive childhood losses, failed marriages and the effects of the 1950s' Blacklist. This rarely produced classic is presented by the HumanArts Theater Company. Learn More

I really enjoyed this show! The dancer's were energetic, athletic, and accomplished with an obvious love for the art. The music accompaniment was modern, high-energy and also top-notch.Written on Aug 14 2009
While I initially thought that the show was going to be mostly cheesy ballroom dancing with hot dancers I was sorely mistaken!

3rd time around, closer seating, it was just as wonderful as ever. I am going to miss this show. I truly coulnd't get enough of it. Maybe Goldstar could offer a package next time that would include meeting some of the cast members. After 3 times that would have been icing on my cake!! :)Written on Apr 27 2009

OH MY GOSH!! This was too fabulous!! It was energetic, sexy and the men were oh so handsome and buffed!! The ladies were kickin' it also!! My only slow point was with the traditional type ball room routines. There were not that many but I found them slow. The singers were equally as wonderful. It's not for the younger set at all. More like 16 and up. Fabulous, simply fabulous!Written on Mar 04 2009

Description

Years before Dancing with the Stars and So You Think You Can Dance turned Ballroom dancing into must-see TV, one sizzling show was setting stages ablaze around the globe. The electrifying Burn The Floor, the Latin and Ballroom dance spectacular that has thrilled audiences in more than 30 countries worldwide, will make its Bay Area premiere at San Francisco's Post Street Theatre.
Burn The Floor is a breathtaking blend of Latin and Ballroom dance first conceived as a special performance at Sir Elton John's 50th birthday celebration in 1997. Two years later, the show made its world premiere in the U.K. and quickly took the globe by storm. Today, with producers Harley Medcalf and former World Champion Latin and Ballroom dancers Peta Roby and Jason Gilkison at the helm, Burn The Floor has sold more than three million tickets in over 140 cities worldwide.
From Harlem's hot nights at The Savoy, where dances such as the Lindy, Foxtrot and Charleston were born, to the Latin Quarter where the Cha-Cha, Rumba and Salsa steam up the stage, Burn The Floor takes audiences on a toe-tapping journey through the passionate drama of dance. The elegance of the Viennese Waltz, the exuberance of the Jive, the intensity of the Paso Doble -- audiences will experience them all, not to mention the Tango, Samba, Mambo, Quickstep, Swing -- it's Ballroom dance with a sexy 21st century edge.
Burn The Floor's troupe of 16 award-winning dancers, two percussionists and two vocalists hail from around the globe -- U.S., Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Russia, Australia, Sweden, the Philippines -- and include Australian Ballroom dance champions and World Latin American champions. The dancers, who hold more than 100 championship dance titles amongst them, move to the vision of artistic director and choreographer Jason Gilkison, whose work recently thrilled audiences on season four of So You Think You Can Dance and NBC's Superstars of Dance.
