In their early '70s heyday, the Dramatics were an anomaly: a Detroit singing group signed not to their famed hometown label, Motown, but to the legendary Southern soul label Stax/Volt. Their sound, as heard on hit singles like "Whatcha See Is Whatcha Get" and "In the Rain," straddles both worlds, combining the Temptations-like silky-smooth harmonies of Motown with the earthiness of Memphis-style soul. This is the second time I've gone to this venue for a late show (9:30pm) and have arrived early only to stand in line for tickets and seating (8:30pm)....only to be disappointed and given an excuse about the earlier show running overtime. This left Cece starting around 10:30pm which subsequently messed up the other plans I had scheduled that evening since I was anticipating being out of there around 11pm.
I don't know why this great venue can't better manage their artist and have a more efficient plan for clean-up between shows and enough folks to get us seated in a quicker manner. YIKES!

Thoroughly enjoyed myself at this event. The venue was very intimate and we had great seats as well. Ms CeCe Peniston has the voice and energy to carry and to keep the crowd going. Would not hesitate to go and see her again next time she is in town, such talent and beauty. You must see her to witness that she has what it takes to be on stage and blow you away with her voice and presence, while embracing her audience and having fun.Written on Feb 21 2012
