The LOOOOOOVVVEEEE Boat, soon will be making another run.... The LOOOOOVVVEEE Boat!

Wow, if I weren't in love with my husband of 26 years before the cruise, I would have been by the end of it. While pricy if compared to just a regular lunch, you can't compare it to a regular lunch.

Where else can you cruise the Bay, learn little factoids that you didn't know, pass under the Golden Gate Bridge, pass by Alcatraz, get serenaded by the Hornblower Lounge Act and enjoy first class food and service?

My favorite items on the buffet were the Brocolli Noodle Salad and the CousCous and Shrimp Salad, and the funny thing, I don't really care for salad. I had a wonderful little petit four sized dessert treat that was persimmon with crushed pistacio's.

Our server Martine must have transferred over from Royal Carribean Cruise Lines. The service was definately Michelan Star Worthy! He kept the beverages topped off, the tables cleared and was constantly refolding your napkin. He was attentive and charming, without being cloying. Our group felt the need to present him with an extra 15% at the end of our adventure.

SUGGESTIONS - If you are going with another couple, I would recommend buying all of your tickets at the same time. Otherwise make sure you note on your reservation that you want sit with the other party. The reservations listed this as a "General Seating" so we arrived early (1st in line) and when we checked in, we were at seperate tables. We asked if we could be moved, but the Maitre'd advised that they were booked and couldn't make changes. Even though we had a party of 2, we were set for a table for 3, so I didn't see why we couldn't add a chair. We ended up switching tables with another couple, giving them our window view. This was the only hiccup in our day.

The cruise was excellent, we had been on the same cruise about 6 years ago and wondered if the quality of the event was still good and it was. The buffet was well done, with a good selection of sides and salads. The carving station had ham and what looked like a pork roast. We all had the ham and it was tasty. Super waitress (Christina) she kept the champagne, coffee and OJ coming throughout the cruise. There was a guitarist who played requests and announced birtdays and anniversaries. It's not a glam gala event but a wonderful way to view the city and the bay. I was born in SF so the sites are home to me, but I think it would be a really nice thing to do if it was your first visit to the city. Good parking right at the boat $10 for the cruise and $20 for all day. It's nice that it is adjacent to the Ferry Building Marketplace - if you get there early for your cruise you can go do a quick browse of the shops. Even though we bought our tix at a discount through Gold Star we had great seats by the window. A+!

I celebrated my birthday with friends and family - it was pouring rain but once we got inside it was nice, warm and cozy. They had given our table to someone else, but we managed to get it sorted. The brunch was a feast and we all had a good time. My friends had the guitarist play "happy birthday" for me and that was special. Being able to enjoy my birthday with people I love and care about, coupled with excellent food and service on a cruise around San Francisco ,made this birthday memorable! I would do it again :)

The cruise was great. The food was delicious, the champagne plentiful, and the music made a nice backdrop to the scenery. The cruise took us under the Golden Gate Bridge and around the backside of Alcatraz for a close up view. Overall, a very nice way to spend a Sunday morning. I would recommend it to others and look forward to going again myself.

We loved this event. It was all that we thought it would be and more. We had a great table for two in the aft along the window. Our server was very attentive. The food was good, nothing really above adverage but good. The time just flies, so make sure you're prepared to stop eating and run to the deck to get your pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. I'm a slow eater, and we were one of the last tables to go up to the buffet, maybe that won't be a problem for most.

I think I would like to try the dinner cruise next time when we come back to SanFran.

It was wonderful in every way. It was very organized. From the time we boarded and got an assigned table, to the serving of the delicious food. Music was varied and excellent. We will be going again soon.
Our waiter, Jeff, was fun and very attentive to our needs.

With the discount offered by goldstar, it was worth it. The food was much better than expected and the views were wonderful. The lady at the piano also gave great commentary as to what we were passing. Great ambiance and very beautiful interior of the ship.

My husband and myself attended with friends whose anniversary is the day after ours. This is our 2nd time and we loved it. The food was scrumptious! Our wait person (Martin) was outstanding! Made us feel as if we were the only two on board in terms of attentiveness! I would recommend to anyone who's looking for something memorable to do for a special occasion or just because it's today! Oh and the views from the ship aren't bad either!

I've lived here a long time but never saw some of the sights that can only be seen from a boat. We were also very lucky that it was a beautiful day. kudos to all.

I went with my godparents visiting from Germany and we had an awesome time. This is not a tourist trap but a real nice sophisticated outing. We had a seat by the window, the waitress was attentive, we drank real and decent Champagne a volonte, and the food was great. As were the views of the city and the Golden Gate Bridge. It's good for celebrations, family things, visitors and also older people as it doesn't require a lot of work. But all of us enjoyed it!

What a wonderful Brunch Cruise this would have been if there hadn't been angry 4' to 6' waves preventing us from the normal route around Alcatraz and under the Golden Gate Bridge. The route we followed was boring, but understandable since it was tremendously calmer!

The food was exceptional, but what really saved the day was the service and personal attention we received - it was superior to anything else we did in San Francisco!!! Kudos to all the Hornblower staff members!!! I highly recommend this event - on a calm day!

Our cruise was on a rainy grey day. It was easy to find out ship and to be seated. There was a photographer taking photos before we boarded. Our vessel left exactly on time. There were drinks being served the moment we were seated. The champagne was not bad. The coffee was okay. The sea swell was too large to make it all the way out to the Golden Gate but we had a lovely view of San Francisco and went all the way around Alcatraz which was really gorgeous. There were a bunch of sail boats out on the water and we pulled up next to a huge cargo ship which made us feel small.

The food was excellent. There were breakfast pastries, croissants, and fresh fruit. We had two types of salad, spinache quiche, peach cobbler, sausage, bacon, eggs, cured ham and prime rib cut on the spot. There were also deserts but I was too full to have any. The seating was comfortable, the atmosphere was nice. I would definately do this again (perhaps a dinner cruise) on a sunnier day.

The cruise was great. We were in a group of about 20, but did not know/were not informed that we needed to sign up as a group, so be sure to work with goldstar to make sure everyone in your party is grouped so you can sit together! When we boarded the ship, the person taking the tickets was not helpful with our predicament, but once aboard the ship the waitstaff were EXTREMELY helpful in getting our group seated together!

I had a great time!!! The trip started as scheduled and they were willing to change our table to a window seat. I'm not sure if they will do if it's a full boat. The cruise was great and the tour guide/pianist was funny and entertaining. The food was fantastic as well. I would rate the experience and the overall price value at 5 stars!!!

The food had the potential to be horrible because you expect to pay for the incredible view...But this was definitely NOT the case! The food was AMAZING, the view was great (we had a gorgeous day) and the service was great. Our champagne glasses were never empty. We were also seated next to a nice couple that we chatted with and they made the cruise even better. HIGHLY recommended!

Great event! The food, the free flowing champagne, the ambiance. I would go again in a second! Perfect for friends, family, couples, groups, locals, and tourists. Checks all the boxes!

If going in a group, be sure to purchase tickets all at once under one name as opposed to individually. My husband and I went with another couple, but purchased tickets separately and we were put at different tables. They were extremely accommodating when we got there so that we were sitting next to eachother, however, would have been easier had we purchased the tickets all at once under one name to avoid confusion. Other than that, everything was fabulous and hassle free!

We had a great time even though it was overcast, so views weren't spectacular. The food was lovely and plentiful; the service was attentive; the pianist/tour guide was corny (in a good way!); the seating was comfortable. We dressed for the weather, but didn't need to as we could sit inside and see all that was available to see. At full price, it's a great special occasion event; at the Goldstar discount, I'd go again just for a lovely brunch.

We were impressed with our Champagne Sunday Brunch. It was even better than we had expected. It helped that we had a beautiful warm day, especially for the middle of January.
Our waiter was outstanding and gave us the best of service, making sure we had all of the champagne and orange juice that we wanted. When our table wasn't set when we first arrived, our waiter, Mateo, set us up with Champagne and told us how to get up on the deck and told us to come back in 11 minutes, when our table would be ready.
The food choices were very good also and the food was left our during most of the cruise so you could go back for more as long as you wanted. There was a nice guitar player playing during the cruise which was nice back ground music.
We would take this cruise again.

The cruise stayed within the timeline given. Brunch itself was a great choice of several different lunch or breakfast choices, salads, and breads. Desserts were varied too, with bread pudding with caramel sauce option, multiple bite-size cookies, and/or fruit. The boat is larger and spacious.

Good views. Left on time but arrived early. Pressured to have photo taken prior to boarding but was able to avoid. Dress casual if desired. Music was much too loud to have a conversation and kept on asking the musican to turn it down which he happily did. Too much talking about what we were seeing. Like pulling teeth to get our champagne filled and had to ask twice to get coffee at the end. Food was just OK.

The Hornblower cruise was awesome!! I took my Mohter for her 57th birthday and we enjoyed every minute of it. The food was delicious, the scenic loop around Alcatraz, past Angel Island and under the Golden Gate. What more can you ask for? And I have to add that they keep your Mimosa filled at all times. Thank you Goldstar for the sweet deal.

I have been on the Hornblower cruises many (15 plus)times, and have yet to have had anything but a wonderful time. The food is consistantly good, exemplary service (this time we again had Dorothy, who is always smiling, efficient and helpful), the ships immaculate, and the maritime services safe and of the highest professional standards. I cannot recommend this event highly enough.

The food was great and plentiful and it was a lovely way not only for our visitors to get a sense of the Bay, but also some new perspectives for us. I probably wouldn't pay full price for this cruise but at the Goldstar price it was lots of fun at a reasonable price.

They force you to take a picture before boarding, but its quick and painless and you can sigh hi to the captain (you should say hi). They will have your name and table number already prepared for you.

Everything was nice and pleasant. The live keyboardist was a funny guy and talented so the music wasn't a distraction... about as perfect as can be. Only downer (not that bad) was when I went outside to soak up some views and turned to open what I thought was another way back into the ship and one of the guests informed me, verbatim, "That door is for a private party, not you"... pretty rude, but eh. No blame on the Hornblower staff

This was completely worth it with the discount, otherwise would have been too pricey for 1.75 hr cruise. (i don't count the 10 min they had to kill for nearing the dock too soon) The food was great, nothing to worry about for even the most seasoned brunch lover. PS - Great time for mom when she visits.

The cruise nice and there was plenty of good food plus a big desert section. The only negative was we bought the last 4 tickets that were available and we were seated directly across from the pianist which was so loud we had to yell to talk and by the end of the cruise had a headache and our ears were ringing. They are still ringing today the day after the cruise. We asked if she could lower the volume but they never did. It would of been perfect if not for that.

The food is OK and the service is good but the Bay and all the sites (Bay Brigde, Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Angel Island, Palace of Fine Arts, Presidio) are spectacular! Well worth the price.

It is a very romantic and special brunch. I have gone to many brunches since I met my partner of 5 years and I believe this was the most romantic. Where else can you have fantastic ever changing views and get interesting facts and enjoy a wonderful meal. I would recommend this to anyone who has a special moment or just want to do something nice for people that you love and cherish.

I booked a Saturday Brunch cruise to celebrate our anniversary. It was absolutely wonderful! The table and buffet setup was more elegant than we expected, and the food was very good. The desserts were just ok, but the chocolate covered strawberries were great. The piano player was entertaining and took requests. He announced birthdays and anniversaries, but rather late in the cruise, when most people had gone outside. They had accidentally assigned another party to our same spots, so we had to move, but the event coordinator was very apologetic about the mix-up. He let us choose where to sit, and gave us a complimentary bottle of premium champagne (so we didn't drink the screw-top stuff that is included in the price.) At full price, it is great for special occasions, but with the GoldStar price, I would do it any day and it is good for tourists too.

The food was lovely and plentiful; the service was attentive; the pianist/tour guide was informative and friendly; the seating was comfortable. Our only complaint was that we didn't really get to take all the pictures we wanted because we were moving a little too fast for an amateur photog and we spent so much time eating & having a good time (this last was a good problem to have!). At full price, it's a great special occasion event; at the Goldstar discount, I'd go again just for a lovely brunch.

Everyone in our party of 14 enjoyed the cruise and comentary along the way. It was especially exciting to cruise under the Golden Gate bridge in the fog and hear the massive fog horns bellowing.

We had optimal weather (a sunny warm day), and the views were beautiful. The service was good (better than average but not best-ever), and the same was true of the food. The food items were fresh and tasty but certainly not the best food in SF. Overall, the experience was a good one, since we were able to move into better seating (seats that apparently were reserved for people who had paid full price but didn't show) and enjoy the great views in and around the bay.

Easy parking right by the boat. Attentive service throughout. Food good altho I am always put off by those folks who act as tho this is the last meal they will ever get...but that is not Hornblower's fault ! We had a great table by a window and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves

This is an excellent value, especially at the goldstar price!

The food: In chaffing dishes and kept warm. Basic brunch selections, nothing to write home about. The food was quickly replenished as needed and seemed to be fresh.

The Staff: Mateo was awesome. He kept the champagne coming. The keyboardist was a little cheesy, but provided nice background music and a few facts about San Francisco.

Seating: I DID not want to be seated at a table with strangers. The seating is arranged that there are many tables arranged for parties of two. Easily changed to suit parties of four or more.

Value: I've paid $40 for other brunches and although the food was better, I was not cruising the bay! We'd definitely go again.

Overall, a nice event. However, we were not notified that the SF Marathon was happening and the Embarcadero was closed to cars. So, parking was a bit away. Food was very good except for the fritatta - ugh. Strongly suggest that you make group reservations under one reservation or your seating will not be together, even if you contact them and they say it will be together.

Greatly recommend this event to all tourists and locals. Amazing way to spend lunch and see the city - especially if you are lucky with the weather.

Don't rush to be there 30 min before the cruise - you will end up standing in line and all the seats are already assigned so you won't get a better seat for coming earlier. If there is a better empty table, they will move you upon request.

Only slight problem: the sound system is way too loud, kind of jarring.

I normally dislike "touristy" type of events/venues, but when I read the great reviews on Goldstar, I decided to book for a group of 21 from our company because we had an out of town team member visiting.

The food was very good, the weather was perfect, the service was exceptional and EVERYONE had an amazing time! Best of all, it was a very easy event for us to organize! Kudos to Hornblower for putting on such a classy and enjoyable event.

Excellent!! We took our in-laws from Florida out and they had a blast! food was delicious and the waiter who kept our glasses filled, the plates cleared and ensured we were having a great time. We will definitely do this again with other friends, the only downside was not having a window table, but all in all it's a great way to spend a few hours. Weather could not have been better! Go and enjoy!

This was a great gift & afternoon out on the bay. The buffet was really good and the constantly flowing champagne (mimosas) were great! We only wished that the cruise lasted longer, but I'll be sure to come again with other friends for a nice treat... & Goldstar made it all the more worthwhile. ;)

We took my father for his 70th Birthday.
The food was great, the views were awesome, and the waiters were friendly.

the only hiccup was finding the ship...the address gives 3 Embarcadero but it never mentioned "Pier 3" That would've helped a great deal.

    Otherwise...it was a great experience!

We were very pleased with our experience with the Champagne Brunch on a Hornblower yacht! It was well organized from start to finish. We boarded the ship at exactly the time specified and promptly were served as the ship left the dock. The brunch was delicious and plentiful. Even the scrambled eggs were the way I like.

Their coffee could have been more savory and hotter. The desserts need improvement but were o.k.

The piano player was lots of fun and narrated historic facts about places we passed. He also acknowledged anniversary and birthday celebration on board.

I would heartily recommend this trip.

Such a great way to spend an afternoon seeing the city in a way that you rarely do, day to day, when living in the city. Not sure if it is the normal way they do things, but when you sign up as a couple, there is a whole U-shaped section just for couples ... no table sharing ... which was perfect. You're close enough to make some acquaintances, but separate enough to have great alone time. It was cloudy and overcast during our excursion, but that did not deter. The Bay is still an amazing sight, regardless of sun or lack thereof. This is a must-do, at least once, for residents as well as tourists.

To begin I must say it was a SPECTACULAR day on the bay so that had a lot to do with my enjoyment of the cruise.
The service was actually snooty. He did the job of -constantly- refilling the "champagne" but seemed very put off by the fact that we did not order from the bar.
The food is banquet food and very middle of the road. If you like french toast you'll probably be fine.
The house "champagne" was very house-y. Totally obvious that it had screw-off caps. At least the orange juice was also included in the price.
Being out on the bay was wonderful and romantic, with beautiful views of the bay, both local bridges, alcatraz, the city and sausalito. This nearly made up for all other lacking areas.

This cruise was fantastic! Everything from the perfomer to the buffet to the sights, it was great from beggining to end! I went with a group of 3 girlfriends for a part of a bachelorette party and it was a great bonding experience.

The food served for the buffet was very delicous. There were so many different choices - from scrambled eggs, french toast (a little dry), sausages, bacon, country potatoes, frittata, oven roasted ham and turkey, 2 kinds of salads to the scrumptious desserts such as lemon bars, brownies, cream tarts and the AWESOME chocolate covered strawberries!! The food was refilled halfway through the cruise in case people wanted more but because of the variety, one serving was enough for us!! The endless champagne, orange juice coffee and tea was also fantastic!! Our glasses were never empty!

The captain was gracious enough to take us under the Golden Gate Bridge because the weather was gorgeous and we had the best views!! Standing out on the deck, we took the most beautiful pictures that will add to our great memories!

Our waiter, Mateo was very nice and kept coming by to check on us in case we needed anything! The performer, (don't know his name) had a great voice and was was on key with all the songs.... It was a bit loud at times but it made for a more festive cruise, in my opinion! He even took requests without any problems!

The only reason why I gave it a 3 out of 4 stars was because we were running late due to the Gay Pride Parade (we had no idea it would be the same weekend) and we had no choice but to park about 15 blocks away. We BARELY made it on the boat but you could tell the wait staff and Maitre D' was annoyed with us. After we were seated, he was really nice because I think he realized what made us a little late. It didn't effect our cruise but it made it a bit uncomfortable in the begining.

I will DEFINITELY book another trip! This time, I will take my parents and I know they will love it as much as we did!!....hopefully there won't be any parades next time!! ;)

This was for my sister's birthday. It was awesome. From fun picture before boarding, Capt. greeting guests, easy as pie check in (pre-assigned table, so no "first come, first serve" rush), wonderful food and of course Champagne flowing, to wonderful one-man band. The weather was gorgeous. We were able to go all the way to the G.G. Bridge, back under the Bay Bridge, before returning to dock. It was a full 2 hrs. Really recommend it!

This was a great experience. Boarding was smooth, and staff was friendly. It took about 30 minutes or so before we actually sailed off, but the staff had been serving champagne and mimosas as soon as they were able to. The live music was fantastic, low key, jazzy. The buffet was put out about 12:15 or so, and there were long lines. The food was ok, but choise was minimal. This was not the type of brunch spread you would normally expect. The had french toast, scrambed eggs, sausage, cous-cous, pootatoes, 1 type of muffins, crossaints, a fish, and a chicken. There was no fruit, and the choices felt very limited. If I had paid the full price, this would have been very dissapointing. Later thaty had a dessert table out, and they put the fruit out then.

It felt right at the half price through Goldstar, and for that price, it was a lovely experience, something different.

Wonderful service. Plenty of good food and bottomless mimosas (bloody mary was good too). Beautiful views. Only down side was that the time flies, so it's easy to spend a lot of time with the good food and company and not have enough time to spend on deck enjoying the scenery. This could easily be a 3 hour cruise and the guests would love every minute of it.
