Stars of MTV's hit comedy series Girl Code Jessimae Peluso and Carly Aquilino trade the small screen for the big stage for this evening of stand-up. Described as "a bottle rocket with a pulse," Jessimae Peluso is a dynamic performer who riffs on everything from her fear of children to her infatuation with John Stamos to her inability to talk dirty with her Syracuse accent. In addition to TV appearances on E!'s Chelsea Lately, MTV's Girl Code and Failosophy, Peluso was named one of the funniest comics to follow on Twitter by The Huffington Post. She's joined by her Girl Code co-star Carly Aquilino, a New York native with a razor-sharp wit who's quickly rising in the comedy scene, performing regularly at The Stand Comedy Club in New York City. It was my first time going to Cobb's and my first Goldstar purchase, my boyfriend and I had a great time. The service was great, we had good seats and a nice waitress. The menu is limited and the food is nothing to write home about, but adequate if you don't have time to eat before the show (although in my experience the french fries tasted like they were cooked in old oil, blech!)
As for the show, the opening comedians were funny; there were 3 acts, a local (whose name I forgot) did a funny married guy act, Remy, the singing comedian was really unique and clever, his act was memorable (he has an album coming out; its being released by Comedy Central), an Iraqi singing country songs about tabouli, kabobs and d-bags. Brian Posehn was hysterical and did great bits about the zombie apocalypse and being an ugly married pothead Star Wars geek, with a wife, baby and cats. My boyfriend and I kept imitating him and laughing the rest of the night. Great show, thanks Goldstar!

Hilarious low brow humor. Even though I'd heard 60% of the material before, Posehn delivers it conversationally and naturally, like he's talking to buddies over a bong hit. I enjoyed the opener and feature comics too. Seating at Cobb's was...continued
