This was our first time seeing her do standup. It was very enjoyable. She is a very thought provoking comedian. She covers a lot of different topics. We will probably see her again when she returns. We also always like the first girl that opens up - I think her name is Allie Wong. She is a hoot!

We went to her last show of the evening and I think she was a little tired. She could not get a laugh from anyone for a while and when she did it sounded more sympathetic. At the end of the show, she addressed to the audience that she was aware that she too felt the disconnect with us - then proceeded to ask where she went wrong. It was a little awkward, but I'm sure she was just trying to take notes to hopefully improve her material. I want to say she just had an off night, but I would recommend going to one of her first shows of the evening instead of her last.

The stand up comedians that opened up for her were HILARIOUS and made this event "OK" for me.

It was a fun show but I think she was off her game. She couldn't keep track of where she was in her set or something else was wrong. She had some funny bits but overall it was a bit dissapointing. She was apologetic about not being a comic which I thought was weird because she can be very funny and has some great lines.

More Information About Comedian Janeane Garofalo

Description

<p>Janeane Garofalo's comedy is cynical, harsh, and yet somehow still charming. Her topical rants often make fun of popular culture, politics, and the pressures on women to conform to body image ideals promoted by the media. Garofalo is a self-described pessimist: "I guess I just prefer to see the dark side of things. The glass is always half empty. And cracked. And I just cut my lip on it. And chipped a tooth."</p> <p>She began in stand-up comedy and then moved into television in the early '90s as part of “The Ben Stiller Show” on Fox, and then as a regular on “Saturday Night Live” and “The Larry Sanders Show.” She appeared in independently produced comedies such as “Reality Bites” and “The Truth About Cats and Dogs,” as well as more dramatic roles in “Cop Land,” “Permanent Midnight,” and "The West Wing” on NBC. In 2004 Garofalo made the leap to radio as co-host of Air America’s “Majority Report,” a syndicated show critical of the George W. Bush administration. She's lent her voice to the animated series “Freak Show” on Comedy Central and to last year’s hit film “Ratatouille” with Patton Oswalt. She joined the cast of Fox's "24" for the show's seventh season. In 2004, she was selected as #99 on Comedy Central's list of the 100 greatest stand-ups of all time.</p>
