Written on Sep 08 2012Jay Pharoah is HILARIOUS and I'd go again in a heartbeat! Great bar food, too!
Written on Aug 11 2012Hilarious...great warm-up acts and really funny impressions
Written on Aug 10 2012I thought Jay was great!
Written on Aug 07 2012Jay is an extremely talented guy. His impressions were spot on. i did not think that he was intouch with his audience though. His routine was so narrow in scope that it missed the majority of the audience.
Written on Aug 07 2012Nice, spacious venue with good light & acoustics, and super friendly staff all around. Perfectly offbeat host of the show, well-paced evening with both comedians offering great deliveries. Jay Pharoah is multitalented, not only doing the impersonations we all know about, both throwing in a nice variety with some astonishing results. And yes, he's often hilarious and attractive, and rather animated as he tries to figure out current pop personalities and world events.
Written on Aug 06 2012Had agood time w the boyfriend. Great prices and jay pharaoh and his openers really made us crack up. A must do
Written on Aug 06 2012Started out weird as the staff at will call window were idiots. I left a ticket for a friend who was showed up about 10 min. after me. I wrote his name on the ticket and left it with the girl. When he got there they said they didn't have it. He texted me and I had to go out there and talk to them. They still were acting like idiots to me and I had just been there. So that part was a drag.
The show was interesting. I thought the two acts before Jay connected to the audience better, even though Jay is great. Especially the half blind guy, super funny. I think the audience was a little older and whiter for Jay's style of comedy.
He tried real hard and he was tired and hoarse from doing lots of voice over work, all which he announced ahead of time. Given all that he gave it his best.
Written on Aug 06 2012Jay Pharoah is a really incredible impressionist, but his material is not always the best. If the transitions between his countless impressions made more sense, it would be even better.
Written on Aug 06 2012Effin funny!
Written on Aug 06 2012Went to the Jay Pharoah show at Cobb's Comedy Club in San Francisco on 8/4 with a couple of my buddies and had a fantastic time. He did all the impressions I was hoping to see, such as Will Smith, Denzel Washington, Kanye West, Jay Z, and Barack Obama, plus many others. His set was well over an hour long, which is a long set for a standup. However, the highlight was when he offered to meet fans for photos after the show. I ended up getting a picture with Jay, which was the perfect ending to a really fun night. Jay is now officially my favorite current "SNL" cast member. Jay, you rock!
Written on Aug 06 2012This was a really funny show, all comedians were really funny and Jay Pharoah was a lot funnier than I thought he would be. +1!
Written on Aug 06 2012Liked the opening acts and it was SO GREAT to see Jay in person!! He was super great to take pictures with people afterwards too!!!! Loved how he used humor to discuss racism and other important topics....
Written on Aug 06 2012It was definitely an enjoyable night, the opening acts were great as well!
Written on Aug 06 2012He was very funny but the presentation did not have a flow. He was a bit all over the place but enjoyable. Also I don't think so many caucasian viewers knew some of the people he was imitating.
Written on Aug 06 2012Not funny! . . .so disappointing too, since he got so much hype . . .did a couple good impressions, but not funny . . .and tried too hard . . .my friends and I went to laugh, but almost left early since we were falling asleep . . .on the bright side, the opening act was hilarious!!! . . .no offense, Jay, but stan up might not be your thing . . .you've got talent, but not as a comedian . . .if you insist on continuing to do stand up, make sure to bring your opening act so that the audience will have something to laugh to.
Written on Aug 06 2012i loved the MC and the Milo (the opening act) theses were very funny too.
Written on Aug 22 2011While not the greatest comedian, Jay Pharoah is a very solid up and coming comedian with very fun impersonations. While parts of his set could use some editing and polish, Jay seems to be well on his way to be a succesfull comedian. The opener and host were also fun.
Written on Jul 25 2011I enjoyed this show. Even the opening acts were funny.
Written on Jul 23 2011Like the headliner, the comic before cursed too much. Reggie is always funny.
Written on Jul 21 2011I was not sure what to expect, but I must say I really enjoyed the show and the Club.
Written on Jul 19 2011It was ok. Jay Pharoah's standup was just ok. He does great impressions but his segways into them don't really flow well. Also, he seems very into himself and kinda hypes himself up a lot. I really enjoyed Reggie Steele and Kris Tinkle who opened Jay's set. They're absolutely hilarious!
Written on Jul 18 2011I liked his impersonations although I didn't know most of the people he was impersonating.
Written on Jul 18 2011I enjoyed it but I was a little too old for many of his references to rap songs. He is undoubtedly a very good mimic and his vocal portrayal of Denzel Washingtom was spot on.
Written on Jul 18 2011Jay had be LOL the entire time. My jaw and stomach was hurting by the end of the night. He is a incredible young comedian and hes the first comedian who addresses celebs and things i knew about!! It was my very first time attending a comedy show and i will definitely go again. just hope others comedian will be as great as him!
in addition, the first host comedian also had me LOL as well! I LOVED IT
Written on Jul 18 2011Jay Pharoah is hilarious! I can't wait to see his show the next time he's in the Bay Area.
Written on Jul 18 2011The show was great! All three of the comedians made me LOL.
Written on Jul 18 2011Jay was funny and had young humor
Written on Jul 18 2011It was great. Comfortable setting and great comedian acts.
Written on Jul 18 2011Dude is hilarious.
Written on Jul 18 2011We loved Jay Pharoah--he was awesome. I had originally purchased tickets for Sunday night, so that my son and daughter would be able to attend, but unfortunately that show was cancelled. We hope he comes back to the Bay Area soon so that we can all see him.
Written on Jul 18 2011I trully enjoyed it. There was actually three comedians performing, the first was the mc for the night and was not that great but the second comedian (kevin?) Tingle was very funny and Mr. jay was hilarious and his impersonations were right on the money.
Written on Jul 18 2011This kid is funny as hell. Jay's very talented. There were a few in the crowd that were rude and he handled it like a pro. I get the feeling that he is gonna be a big name star one day and we were fortunate to see him at an early gig. Some of the white folks in the crowd did seem like they didn't get the jokes. lol What are you gonna do? Me and my girl were laughing the whole time.
Written on Jul 18 2011We enjoyed and laughed often. His impressions were funny and pretty much on target. I pay to see him again. Wish it was longer. A go see for sure.
Written on Jul 15 2011I'd rate the entire experience as 4 stars. Chris Tinkle killed, and the MC did a good job. I laughed throughout their entire set. Jay is an amazing impersonator, but his segues were not smooth. I also couldn't help think he would have done better with a predominantly black audience. Not sure a lot of the white folks got some of his humor. I'm African American and I found him hysterical, however, he needs to work on his non-impersonation material. Overall though, great experience.
Written on Jul 15 2011I did not find the comedy funny. Pharoah's voice impersonations were good, but not funny. I like smart humor and there was none of that
Written on Jul 15 2011Good show! Fast paced and hilarious.
Handled rude crowd like a champ.
