Stars of MTV's hit comedy series Girl Code Jessimae Peluso and Carly Aquilino trade the small screen for the big stage for this evening of stand-up. Described as "a bottle rocket with a pulse," Jessimae Peluso is a dynamic performer who riffs on everything from her fear of children to her infatuation with John Stamos to her inability to talk dirty with her Syracuse accent. In addition to TV appearances on E!'s Chelsea Lately, MTV's Girl Code and Failosophy, Peluso was named one of the funniest comics to follow on Twitter by The Huffington Post. She's joined by her Girl Code co-star Carly Aquilino, a New York native with a razor-sharp wit who's quickly rising in the comedy scene, performing regularly at The Stand Comedy Club in New York City. I almost rated this two stars, largely because of the ineptitude of the opener. He obviously hadn't been doing stand-up long, so let's give him a little slack. I don't mind being part of someone's poor, sad beginnings.
I'd say the same goes for Jon to a certain extent. It's been remarked that his stand-up felt a little unrefined, and it's apparent this is a new venture. I can forgive him some repetition for that. I like the surreal; I like getting what I don't expect. His use of pre-recorded video was great, and in some parts off-putting in a hilarious way (to me). I can see how others would just be confused, but I thought it was great.

The internet works a lot better for him than live shows. He repeated the same jokes over and over well past the point at which they were funny (many weren't even funny the first time).
He's obviously a gifted comedian and singer both, just...continued
Canadian comedian and actor Jon Lajoie is one of the few talents who has been able to manifest the cult following for his internet videos into a mainstream audience, placing him in a preeminent spot in the comedy landscape. With ironically singsong lyrics about everything from boring everyday activities to genitals and getting high, his videos have over 100 million aggregate views on YouTube and Lajoie’s website alone.
Lajoie is a frequent contributor to Funny or Die, has been featured in USA Today, and recently landed a talent development deal with HBO. He is also a classically trained actor and has appeared on a light drama in Canada for the past several years. He was also named one of Variety’s Top Ten Comics To Watch list. Jon performed Jon Lajoie: Live as F*ck in front of a sellout audience at this year’s Montreal Comedy and followed up with another sellout performance at Montreal’s Le National soon after. He is best known for his comedic anthems “High as Fuck,” “Show Me Your Genitals,” and “Everyday Normal Guy.”
