Smooth Soul at the Rrazz Room With the Dramatics

Full Price:
$50.00
Our Price:
$25.00

Enjoy some classic smooth soul and quiet storm R&B in the sophisticated and intimate setting of the Rrazz Room, one of San Francisco's premiere night clubs. In their early '70s heyday, the Dramatics were an anomaly: a Detroit singing group signed not to their famed hometown label, Motown, but to the legendary Southern soul label Stax/Volt. Their sound, as heard on hit singles like "Whatcha See Is Whatcha Get" and "In the Rain," straddles both worlds, combining the Temptations-like silky-smooth harmonies of Motown with the earthiness of Memphis-style soul. Still performing after more than 40 years, the group features veteran member L.J. Reynolds along with Willie Ford, Donald Albert and Winzell Kelly. Learn More

She was funny, but it was WAY too short! only 45 min tops and no opener. We paid top dollar and didn't get our moneys worth.
Disappointed.

Loni rocks. She is hands down one of the best comediennes on the circuit. I would go see her every time she is in town. She can ad lib in an unmatched fashion and turn any conversation into something hysterically funny. If you've never seen her in person, do it first chance, you'll be happy you did.

Although we started late, the show was really fantastic! Loved Loni. The service was good. The venue has a two drink minimum, which I don't recall mention of when purchasing tickets.

Description

Throughout her career, comedian and actress Loni Love, has brought audiences into hysterics with her witty satire and hilarious stand-up. Through her tireless pursuits for comedic excellence, Love has now found herself in the top tier of comedy being named Hot Comic for 2009 in Campus Activity magazine and one the “Top 10 Comics to Watch” in both Variety and Comedy Central. Currently the host of the E! Series, Wildest TV Show Moments, Love is not only one of the most hilarious and lovable comics around but also a busy TV host, guest and actress who continues to strive in every facet of the industry.

Growing up as a latchkey daughter of a hardworking mother in Detroit’s Brewster-Douglass Housing Projects, Loni Love always had an unparallel work ethic. Working on the General Motors assembly line in High School, she found a passion for electrical engineering which landed her a scholarship to Prairie View A&M University in Texas. It was there that she first took to the stage, at a nightclub that was offering a $50 prize to the person who could tell the best story. Love won the $50 prize and fell in love with stand-up comedy, routinely getting gigs throughout college. Upon graduation, Love landed an engineering job in California and headed west to pursue her dream.

After feeling out the Los Angeles comedy club scene and becoming a regular at the legendary Laugh Factory, “the love train” reached full steam in 2003 when the electrical engineer by day / stand-up comedian by night was chosen for the comics showcase at HBO’s U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen. Soon after, Love won the Jury Prize for Best Stand-Up and was a finalist on CBS TV’s revival of Star Search both in the same year. Since then, the Detroit native has since forged a diverse and dynamic career that qualifies her as one of the most hardworking women in show business.

Her skills and winning presence landed Love a role in the major motion picture Soul Plane alongside Tom Arnold, D.L. Hughley, and Snoop Dog. She has continued honing her acting craft in such Los Angeles area theater productions as 12 Angry Women, LoveSide, Sister Girl and Devil’s Journey. On the small screen, Loni Love has made numerous appearances on top shows including, UPN’s Girlfriends, Hot Chocolate News, Cuts and the CBS sitcom Worst Week. Love has also made memorable recurring roles on NBC’s Thick and Thin and the Nickelodeon show Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide.

Never one to waste her talent, Love has become one of the most sought after TV panelists for shows such as Chelsea Lately, VH1’s I Love the 70’s/80’s/90’s and TruTV’s The Smoking Gun Presents: The World’s Dumbest. Loni was guest host on GSN Live and a correspondent for the CNN show D.L. Hughley Breaks the News, where she covered the inauguration of President Barack Obama. Loni Love currently lives in Los Angeles where she remains active in the stand-up scene and continues to make the world a better place, one laugh at a time
