view more less of this reviewNgaio is hilarious. As with many multi-comic events some are bound to be hit or miss. I'm happy to report the Green Smile show was more hit than miss. Of the 6 comics (including Ngaio) 3 were really funny, 2 were enjoyable and only one flopped. Definitely worth seeing.
star this review starred report as inappropriateAs previously mentioned, the comedy lineup was pretty uneven.
As usual, Ngaio was brilliant. His solo standup material was intelligent and he worked the audience like a pro. It helped that in addition to being the headliner, he also played the role of host. Just as another comedian started struggling and the room began losing interest, Ngaio was able to take the stage and reengage the crowd.
I was also impressed by newcomer Caitlin Gill. She more than held her own and demonstrated great potential.
star this review starred report as inappropriateFunny, and exceeded my expectations. I have to say the service in Punchline was not great. I felt ignored, the waitress was nice but slow, and they didn't have what I ordered. Also, when the show was over they gave me a really weird receipt. Since I paid with my debit card I had to sign a copy of the charge receipt even though it said "No signature required." Whatever I don't get it. But the show was great, and if you're hungry afterwards Globe Restaurant is a short 2 block walk and they're open until 1am!!!
