Written on Nov 11 2011Not funny. Tried too hard and material was weak.
Written on Sep 23 2011Great intimate setting at the club. All comedians were great. Sara is terrific.
Written on Sep 20 2011Sarah Colonna is one of the best comedians working today. Being able to see her at such a relatively small venue was almost too good to be true... she was absolutely mesmerizing. Chris Burns was great as always, and Jacob Sirof was enjoyable but a little mean-spirited with the crowd work. Can't say enough good things about Sarah though!
Written on Sep 19 2011Sarah was great. She was funny and clever - exactly like you would expect if you are a fan of Chelsea Lately. The show was funny and Sarah was delightful. The only drawback was that Jacob Sirof performed before Sarah. He was a very vulgar and insulting comic who seemed to verbally attack innocent audience members with lude and degrading behavior. If Sarah had not been the next performance, we would have walked out immediately.
Also, the staff at Punchline were lovely - I have a bad back and was unable to sit comfortably on their stools. When I asked the usher brought us to a table and was very kind. Unfortunately, we ended up sitting next to a woman with a laugh worse than Fran Dresher's but that was not anyone's fault.
