John Adams turned out to be quite an intelligent & entertaining conversationalist, someone you'd like to have at a dinner party. A lot of us wished he could have had more time to talk & answer questions, but the event was also for him to sell books.Written on Mar 27 2009

It was interesting to get a glimpse of the man behind the music. I felt that the lecture itself was a little too short, however (exactly an hour). Mr. Adams spent the rest of the evening signing copies of his new book.Written on Mar 24 2009

Description
Best known for his groundbreaking musical works Nixon in China and The Death of Klinghoffer, John Adams has helped shape the landscape of contemporary classical music. Combining the narrative power of opera, the atonal themes of 20th-century classical music, the spooky modulations of jazz and the complex rhythms of the Beatles and the Band, he created a new music that could express the fractiousness of the political scene of the 1960s and 1970s. Get an inside look at the workings of a brilliant musical mind.
