There were too many dudes, which was funny because they said the women's tickets had sold out and there were still 8 men's tickets available. Logically, that would mean there would be 8 more women then men, but there were not. It was actually the opposite. There were 8 more men than women. That means they must deliberately try to pack these types of classes with men. I asked them about this, and they denied it, but other fliers and info given out at the "party" definitely implied they catered to women meeting lots of men, not vice versa.Written on Jul 17 2008

Combine 8 totally different restaurant genres like Portuguese, Southwest, California, and Mediterranean, combine vigorously with a speed tour of 750 wineries with a Master Winemaker, a dash of behind-the-scenes theater, and a sprinkle of match.com - viola! you've got Cooking Crush! I definitely plan to do more....Written on Jul 17 2008

This was fantastic! We got an awesome tour of Crushpad (which is really unique and cool), great wines to taste, and even cooking tips. They mixed us up a ton and it was easy to meet new people. The only bummer was that it ended right as everyone was getting comfortable.Written on Jul 17 2008

More Information About Cooking Crush
Description
Parties That Cook invites you to Cooking Crush, an evening of wine tasting and cooking for singles (ages 35-50 recommended). Admission includes wine tasting and pairing with a menu of international appetizers.
Cooking Crush guests will be greeted with a nibble, name tag and glass of wine. A tour of the winery will follow, including explanation of key steps in the winemaking process. Singles will mix and mingle over a series of comparative barrel tastings from Crushpads library of ultra-premium wines. Each Cooking Crush event will explore a unique wine-tasting theme, such as the wines of the Russian River Valley or blind tasting Rhone whites.
Guests will then be treated to a lively introductory cooking lesson by the Parties That Cook chefs featuring tips such as the fastest way to dice an onion without a tear. Singles will be split into co-ed teams to work on an array of Sumptuous Small Plates designed to pair with the wines being tasted. Each team will work on a recipe from the evening's tapas menu, all while sipping wine and listening to upbeat music.
The group will savor the fruits of their labor with new friends, or perhaps a crush! After the event, copies of the recipes, digital photos and e-mail address aliases will be sent to the group.
