Description
Directed by Elizabeth Fatum
This double bill explores characters searching for love and acceptance missing from their lives, but they continually follow a path that leads them away from that which they seek. Beautifully told, both dramas unfold the hope and love that can exist when people open themselves up to each other, and show us that we are not alone.
Sat. May 22, 2010: On this evening, ticket prices include a very special champagne gala featuring a hosted bar with with champagne, wine and other drinks, as well as fine foods from great San Francisco restaurants, caterers, pastries and lumpia.
The Program:
Coping Through Pain
A one-act play written by Elizabeth Fatum
This show is the story of one person dealing with self injury. She could be me. He could be you. She could be a colleague, relative or friend. He's a lot more common than you might think. Self injury can affect any person of any gender, race, sexual orientation, economic background, age, faith, or body type. If you are or know this person,
I promise:
you are not alone,
you have nothing to be ashamed of, and
there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
Snowangel
A one-act play written by Lewis John Carlino
This is a story of two people looking for truth from each other. Each one is trapped in their own walls. Tormented by the memories of a past love, John comes to Connie, a prostitute, to get her to reenact certain scenes which have etched themselves in his mind and which have become the symbol for all that was ethereal and beautiful in his life. Connie is shocked and appalled, expecting that John, like most of her other customers, has come to see her. It is a tale of the search for affection and truth. To find that truth, each person must learn the lesson that they must give to receive.
