His performance was scattered and disorganized. Not always a bad thing but it made his comedy a little hard to follow and not as funny as it could have been.Written on Aug 14 2009

Richard Lewis has the amazing ability to tell interconnected tangental stories and keep you laughing the whole time. I'm a bit perplexed by other reviews saying he didn't have an act, as the stream-of-consciousness, tangential ranting has always been his act. If you want a set-up and punchline, he may not be for you. But, if you want someone who just knows how to make every story funny, shares his views on the world and makes you wonder how he'll ever get back to all the tangents he started (and he usually does), don't hesitate. This is a comedian who always delivers and appreciates the audience he has.Written on Aug 12 2009

Richard Lewis is nuts but we knew that before! All the comics were funny and enjoyable and it was a great evening.Written on Jul 29 2011

he was all over the place at first and it took me a while to get used to his "style" -- totally A.D.D....but ended up really enjoying it. [I wished it was longer...]Written on Apr 07 2008
Only thing that put a damper on the night was the waitress who was obnoxious about making us order drinks (2 drink minimum) - she was actually 'rude' and pushy -- which can kill the mood when you are trying to laugh. The comedy club itself needs some work on their customer service!

Description
Richard Lewis has taken his lifelong therapy fodder and carved it into a commanding, compelling art form. Currently on his “Misery Loves Company Stand-Up Tour,” Lewis is also appearing in his sixth season of Curb Your Enthusiasm, where he was nominated by SAG for his recurring guest star role, playing true-to-life as one of Larry David’s closest friends.
Richard Lewis is often compared to a jazz musician for his wild riffs that fly out into space but always find a way to float back into rhythm as they splatter recurring themes against a spiraling, lyrical backdrop. Recognized by Comedy Central as one of the top 50 stand-up comedians of all time, Lewis was also charted on GQ Magazine’s list of the “20th Century’s Most Influential Humorists.” He has released a box set called “Concerts From Hell” containing three of his comedy specials, two of which earned ACE nominations, and in his highly acclaimed, autobiographical memoir, “The OTHER Great Depression,” Lewis disrobes his substance abuse and recovery, skewing it in his unique way.
Richard Lewis co-starred with Jamie Lee Curtis for four years on ABC’s critically acclaimed series “Anything But Love,” and has made numerous other television appearances, including guest roles on “Two and a Half Men,” “The Dead Zone” and “Alias.” Late night TV viewers will recognize him from his frequent guest appearances on “The Late Show,” “The Tonight Show,” “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” and “Real Time with Bill Maher.”
