I could pick apart some of the problems with "Dead Metaphor" - a couple of the characters are a little too two-dimensional and the ending is very unsatisfying (no one in the audience knew the show was over!), but with a terrific first act and some...continued

The actors playing the father, the politician and the job counselor were top notch. The actor who played the veteran was comparatively weak; I didn't get some of the his choices. The moving round table set was cool. Second act was more...continued

This was kind of a quirky play, with a very practical and different stage setting. I loved all the characters, and laughed alot. The ending was not what I expected, and at first I felt a little cheated, but then i realized that was a fascinating...continued

Dead Metaphor: Where forgotten Afghanistan war vets, the lousy job market, super-right-wing female politicians, impending motherhood, marriage, elder care, environmentalism, religion, love, hate, cynicism, pity, mercilessness and gas barbeques...continued

Excellent play with important, heavy material but with the right amount of humor and wit. I really enjoyed it and the great conversation afterwards that it inspired about various issues. Mezzanine seats were great, didn't feel too far away and...

It was good, not great. The biggest standout for me was the innovative staging--very clever. The theater itself is gorgeous. Parking is not easy, even for this salty San Francisco veteran.

Wonderfully witty and great puns and metaphors! Great characters, from Dean, the soldier son, and his dad, to the job counselor to the Nikki Haley character, Helen. Great about current politics, and how our returning vets are treated. Especially...continued

I enjoyed this dark comedy and would recommend it to others. The dialogue was blunt, quickly exposing the characters for who they were. Interesting set design with two circles moving in opposite directions - this enabled quick movements from...

The first half was hilarious, with a wide variety of targets of dark but painfully-honest humor (politics, Republicans, spouses, aging, soldiers, poor interviewees, etc) and a clever staging device. The 2nd half wasn't nearly as good as it becomes...continued

This is a play worth seeing! There are lots of laughs, but this is a serious subject that will make you think.

While flawlessly directed and acted, the set imaginative and novel, the lighting was weird and the plot fatally flawed.

There were funny moments for sure, but the ending was totally unsatisfactory, the plot twists non existant, and the dialog...
