Named one of the top ten plays of 2009 by The Advocate, Daniel Talbott's Slipping is an emotional drama about Eli, a high-school senior, who moves with his mother from California to Iowa after his dad's death. But after being mistreated by his closeted ex in California, Eli struggles with the idea of starting a new relationship with the straight star athlete who's befriended him and now wants to get even closer. New Conservatory Theatre Center is known for its innovative productions centered on theatrical work for youth and the LGBT community, and continues that mission with this show, directed by Andrew Nance. Leanne and Scott do a beautiful job of bringing the divas to life. Romantic, humorous and thoroughly entertaining. Leeanne's voice soars. Lovely show you can bring your folks to and still have a good time.Written on Aug 09 2010

Leanne is always a solid performer with lots of stage presence. It wasn't my favorite material for her as it was pretty much all standards with very standard arrangements. She's best when she's kind of spontaneous and lets her personality shine through more. But a good solid show overall.Written on Aug 09 2010

It's great to see an entertainer who knows their craft (both singing and patter [talking]) so well, and knows how to select material suited to their personality. I went to accompany someone who had seen her before and am very happy I did. Also appreciate how well singer and pianist worked together.Written on Aug 12 2010

Description
You loved her last season as the saucy Mona Kent in Dames at Sea. Now Leanne Borghesi takes on the music of legendary divas such as Midler, Garland, Merman, Streisand, Lupone, and many more. Borghesi is joined by musical director and accompanist G. Scott Lacy in a delicious cabaret.
