Mr. Curry was Funny and right on point. His views are strong and direct, and the way he uses humor to speak on some very sensitive matters is Masterful.
I really enjoy the show.
Both gentlemen did the Best they could.

DC carried the show and put on a marvelous performance. The opening act was a little shaky though. For a comic of DC's caliber, a stronger opening act was expected.

Yoshi's San Francisco is a wonderful place for any event. D.C. Curry is a very funny comedian. His show had some low points and some high points. His material was very original, and creative. I find it puzzling why such a talented person uses so much profanity. I also wish he would drop the use of the N word in his material. I would have given his show 4 to 5 five stars, if he would make those two changes, to his show.

Quotes & Highlights

Description

When you first hear Don "D.C." Curry, you may just want to sit down and listen to him carefully. In fact, you may want to ask him his advice on any number of things: politics, child-rearing, balancing the budget, being a black man in America or baseball (he's a former pro player).

His response may not be what you expect. It may not even be what you think you want to hear. But by the time he is finished "going off" on one of his patented riffs (and taking you with him), don't be surprised if you find yourself nodding your head in agreement with the wildest assertions that somehow make "good common sense." Say what you will about his position on the issues. Try to understand that it is the truth as he sees it — the world according to Don "D.C." Curry.

You see, this guy doesn't see things the way most people do. He is very serious about what he sees and what he says. His onstage charisma and strong conviction help sell his position. It is the interpretation that makes him so unique. His tremendous national appeal has been evidenced with stellar performances on BET's Comic View.

He won top honors as "Comedian of the Year" for the 1995-1996 season. As a result, he was awarded the hosting job of the nationally televised cable daily strip, beginning in the fall of 1996. Earlier in the year he kicked off his winning ways by winning the highly lauded star-launcher, The Annual Bay Area Black Comedy Competition in Oakland, California, which put him in alumni status with some of the nation's finest.

Touring constantly, he is slaying live audiences all across the country, both as a headliner in some of the nation's hottest clubs and as a concert act with some of comedy's brightest stars.

Ask anybody who has seen D.C. Curry perform. They will tell you that Don "D.C." Curry is the future.
