Back in San Francisco for just one night after a 14-month run in New York City, this hilarious, highly personal solo show explores playwright-performer Ben Rimalower's journey of self-discovery. When his father came out of the closet and began taking drugs, Rimalower found comfort in musical theater, especially in the transportive voice and larger-than-life personality of Broadway legend Patti LuPone. With a mix of comic irreverence, stark candor and show-biz bravado, Patti Issues poignantly examines the challenges facing LGBT families while shining a light on gay men's fascination with divas. The show has garnered rave reviews from numerous luminaries of the theatre world, including Tony Kushner, Alan Cummings and Patti LuPone herself. Learn More

I went in thinking Beckett wasn't going to be my style and turns out that it isn't.
But given that bump to get over, this was an impressive production. I do know one of the actors and found it surprisingly easy to forget that it was him up there. And the other actors were all people I'd look forward to seeing in other roles. Creative use of multimedia for sets and other angles too.
