Showcasing Cole Porter's signature wit and masterful composition, Roundabout Theatre Company's Tony-winning production of Anything Goes features beloved songs such as "I Get a Kick Out of You" and "You're the Top." This timeless tale of boy-meets-girl and the resulting roller coaster ride centers on Billy Crocker, who falls hopelessly in love with a wealthy heiress. When he sees her boarding a boat to London, he throws caution to the wind and becomes a stowaway. Madcap hijinks ensue when his fellow passengers, including the evangelist-turned-nightclub-singer Reno Sweeney and second-rate gangster Moonface Martin, decide to help Billy win his true love. view more less of this reviewI am a Samuel Beckett fan and a Bill Irwin fan and so I was well prepared to enjoy this show. We had inexpensive seats in the back of the mezzanine and we were able to see everything perfectly. There were moments of humor and moments of horror and sadness. Above all I enjoy the words and the words were well conveyed. I was not blown away, but it was an enjoyable evening of thoughtful theater.

PLAY was funny, stark and almost like a piece of music. Very fast-paced although if you missed anything, you're in luck. It gets repeated in its entirety. The guy on the spot light should get an ovation. END GAME: also funny. The parents in the barrels were charmingly and expressively played. Loved the father. Bill Irwin was of course amazing in a challenging role in a challenging play. Funny, stark and gloomy at the same time.

Not only did the actors have to be prompted for lines multiple times, but it seems like they didn't even read the plays. Maybe actors should watch this version of "Play" for a little insight regarding how it should be done: http://youtu.be/WTFkYVR2sL8
And as far as "Endgame" is concerned...just read the play. (The two older folks in the tins did well, but it actually hurt to watch Bill Irwin butcher this show).
We always love going to A.C.T, still enjoyed having a night out, the beautiful design of the building, and having a drink in the lounge before the show, but as far as the actual show, we were incredibly disappointed.
