Clever idea, appealing cast, but the production felt more like a work in progress than a finished performance.Written on Feb 14 2011

Description
Redolent of the tastes, sounds and smells of Jewish cooking, Esn is literally a song feast – with tastings for the audience of both food and a full menu of Yiddish (and some English) songs. Adrienne Cooper teams with Klezmatics’ Frank London and Lorin Sklamberg in a special Shabbat concert filled with comedy, warm memory and tradition – and all about Jewish food including samples of borscht, gefilte fish, hallah, babka and tzimmes.
Adrienne Cooper: vocals, percussion and matzo brei
Frank London: trumpet, keyboards and cholent
Lorin Sklamberg: vocals, accordion and hallah
