This is my first time seeing this company and the work was interesting and polished. Both pieces were long and integrated text/story telling which kept the interest going and kept the works from actually feeling long. Beautiful dancers and the addition of the boys choir was wonderful. I'd go see this company again.Written on Feb 21 2011

Spotty dancing, intrusive narration, smarmy themes. Beautiful video projections, though.Written on Feb 21 2011

a very rich multi media experience. The first half was quite long, and it was difficult to see the correlation between the spoken text and the choreography.Written on Feb 21 2011

Description
Fable & Faith is an exciting new work created by choreographer Robert Moses in collaboration with playwright Anne Galjour to explore imagination, creativity and identity through the metaphor of myth and fables. Fable & Faith explores the power of myths to shape and transform personal and cultural identities, and incorporates original text performed live by Anne Galjour.
Award winning lighting and video designer Elaine Buckholtz will transform the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts’ Novellus Theatre with her stunning light and video installations. Fable & Faith features composer Matthew Harris’ “Shakespeare Songs”, excerpts from Mozart’s “Requiem," as well as composition/musical arrangements by former lead guitarist of Blondie, Paul Carbonara. San Francisco Boys Chorus will perform live music for the YBCA premiere of the work.
The company also performs The Cinderella Principle (2010), a multi-media exploration into non-traditional family structures.
About the Ticket Supplier: Robert Moses' Kin
Choreographer Robert Moses founded Robert Moses' Kin in 1995 and since then has created numerous works of varying styles and genres for his highly praised dance company. Robert Moses creates dances that speak to our times: His work is a powerful combination of athletic technique, rhythmic complexity, a fusion of different dance styles, and gestural detail. He explores topics ranging from oral history in African American culture to the life and work of author James Baldwin, the isolation found in new love to the dark side of contemporary urban culture, and the simple joyous expressions of pure movement.
