The San Francisco Giants kick off a home series against the Padres, and you can cheer them on in person at AT&T Park. Outfielder Hunter Pence and catcher Buster Posey had great years for the Giants last season, and fan-favorite batters like Pablo Sandoval and Brandon Belt are also returning for another season. The Giants are hoping to get great years from pitchers Madison Bumgarner, Matt Cain and Tim Lincecum, too, as they attempt to return to the playoffs and win their third World Series in five years. This was a great low-key introduction to Kayaking and a good value for the price. The offer is a little deceptive since you're really only on the water for about an hour - the other hour is spent coordinating logistics for the large group to get people on and off the water. A little more "instruction" would have been nice - especially if one has questions about paddling technique, etc. Overall, a new fun way to see part of the city - especially on a warm sunny day in San Francisco - which can be more elusive during the summer months than we'd like.
Participants will be provided with an easy-to-use and stable kayak. Most participants want an extra-stable double kayak, although single kayaks are available for the adventurous. You’ll also get a life jacket and, of course, paddles.
Be sure to wear water-resistant pants, a jacket to protect you from the wind, and shoes that can get wet. Participants are strongly encouraged to bring a change of clothes and extra shoes in case you get splashed. Dress in layers, and bring a hat, sunglasses, sunblock and bottled water.
