I am a huge fan of Mark Cantor and his jazz film series. Those who thought "too much talking" miss the point. These events are more a jazz "short course" designed to educate as well as entertain. Mark requires the audience to listen as a scholarly lecture and learn, rather than merely watch film clips. Approach these events as a way to enhance your love of jazz and film, rather than as a passive film amusement, and you will benefit greatly.

A real treat. This is the second event of the series I attended and thoroughly enjoyed it. Looking forward to Cantor's next series.

The film footage was great! I just didn't expect so much talking between the sets.
It was a long day for me, I was tired but I wanted to go and see the film anyway. 2 hours 15 min + 15 min break was too long for me. I left after 2 sets (1 hour 45 min), disappointed that so much time was spent by Mark Cantor to introduce the songs, the videos already had titles. I would prefer a play bill instead.
