Barbra and Frank: The Concert That Never Was

Full Price:

It's a match made in Vegas! Two of the most impressive celebrity impersonators in the business -- Sharon Owens and Sebastian Anzaldo -- pay tribute to two of music's greatest icons -- Barbra Streisand and Frank Sinatra. In real life, Streisand and Sinatra never performed live together, but in this show, Owens and Anzaldo sing some of the most most memorable music ever written and exchange banter so spot-on to their characters that you feel like you've been transported to the celebrity concert you always wished had happened. For her amazing Streisand impersonation, Owens was winner of the Fox TV show Performing As..., which led to a series of TV appearances and a long run at the Las Vegas Riviera, where she headlined with Anzaldo in Barbra and Frank, The Concert That Never Was. Anzaldo, who has the voice, looks and mannerisms of 'Ol Blue Eyes, was one of the top acts on the Vegas circuit for eight years with his band Wild Life before joining forces with Owens for Barbra and Frank. More Information About Gini Wilson and the San Francisco ChamberJazz Quartet

Description

The San Francisco ChamberJazz Quartet is: Gini Wilson, Steve Heckman, Pat Klobas and Ron Marabuto.

Gini Wilson, known as "The Duchess", is well known in the Bay Area and is now becoming known nationally as a brilliant jazz pianist with influences from the worlds of both jazz and classical music. She and her group have appeared in jazz festivals and concerts including the San Jose Jazz Festival, Jazz in Jackson Hole, WY and the San Miguel de Allende International Festival in Mexico. Gini performs regularly at Moose’s in San Francisco and can be heard from time to time performing as house pianist on NPR’s "West Coast Live" where she is noted for her irreverent sense of humor. Her CDs, "Left Coast Local Time" and "The Crossing Point" introduced her compositions in the genre of chamberjazz (in solo and quartet settings) and have received critical acclaim. Nina Hodgson of Jazz Now described her work as "a brilliant collaboration between classical and jazz". Gini, along with horn virtuoso Steve Heckman, continues to explore the realm of chamberjazz with the development of this new music. This project brings together their collaborative energies to create a genre of original and emotional jazz incorporating influences such as Wayne Shorter, Erik Satie, Bach, world music and Nuevo Tango. Formerly known as the Gini Wilson Quartet, this group is now called the Chamberjazz Quartet, with Gini as the founding director.
