In their early '70s heyday, the Dramatics were an anomaly: a Detroit singing group signed not to their famed hometown label, Motown, but to the legendary Southern soul label Stax/Volt. Their sound, as heard on hit singles like "Whatcha See Is Whatcha Get" and "In the Rain," straddles both worlds, combining the Temptations-like silky-smooth harmonies of Motown with the earthiness of Memphis-style soul. Ottmar Liebert was great - I would give him 5 stars. The Razz Room is a nice small intimate setting and my only gripe and the 3 stars rating was mainly for Goldstar and the fact we HAD to get a minimum of 2 drinks per person...with cocktails at $13. My biggest complaint is with Goldstar Red Velvet, as a member I thought we would have good seats (according to their description of premium seating)the venue was not full and we were place in the back, when there were open tables in the front or near the front of the room. We were there early for the show also! This is not the first time where Red Velvet disappointed. In asking other attendees at the show about Goldstar purchases, they were not Red Velvet members and had better seats. Red Velvet is a sham! Not worth the membership!Written on Nov 14 2011

Fabulous! Liebert is a master who truly captivated us. Coulda heard a pin drop in the room during his songs. My only complaint about the show is that I wish he had been on some kind of a platform so we in the back could see his hands. Rrazz Room is kind of cramped, especially in the back, but I'm used to that. Another excellent Goldstar deal!Written on Nov 29 2010

Ottmar is a great musician who mastered the guitar well. The concert was a series of fantastic pieces but the only disappointing thing about the evening was that he only played for an hour and 20 minutes....which is way too short for the money paid. However, I would recommend anyone to see and listen to him in the future.Written on Nov 14 2011
