Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra Plays Schumann's Cello Concerto

Full Price:
$25.00 - $67.00
Our Price:
$12.50 - $33.50

British violoncello soloist Steven Isserlis and the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra, under the baton of conductor Nicholas McGegan, perform a trio of 19th-century works by that era's leading composers, highlighted by Robert Schumann's 1850 Cello Concerto. An award-winning cellist and educator, Isserlis is a noted expert on Schumann, and recently released a full disc featuring his works. Felix Mendelssohn's evocative overture from The Fair Melusine, based on a Goethe story, opens the program, while Brahms' Serenade No. 2 provides the stirring finale. The Philharmonia is now in its 31st season of entertaining Northern California audiences, and offers a discussion with Scott Foglesong prior to each performance. Learn More

Just a concessions bar, so eat before attending.

A bit dressy, but nice is a must as this is a gala event.

Worthwhile event, talented performers, although the silent auction was very disorganized at the end. The seats were not as good as I usually get on Goldstar.

This is always a five to ten star gala event. And the proceeds go to needy charities. Whatever the entertainment; it is always first cabin.

The show was fine and then changed gears when Carol Cook got going!!?? Send that Texan back to live with the Bushes!!!!!!!!!!! A bit "coarse" and she could barely stand up. Almost ruined the great mood that had been set before she came on!
Loved Tyne Daly and Wesla and Mike are always great!

A great charity and they need money with all the cuts from the Republicans in Sacramento!!
